Hacking GMail is *NOT* an option. If hacking is an option, it would be in a closed system where the person hacking cannot damage the integrity of the system; there is no such closure in a GMail account.

As to why they're visible, they might not be useful YET...

God, why do these conversations continue to come up?

Theoretically, yes, but I have seen this used in other ARGs, presumably trusting the players not to do this. Plus, why give the e-mail addresses? They aren't usually visible on facebook.

My thoughts exactly...

We were s'posed to see the info on FB, we were lead there for a reason and I don't think it was just to find out where they studied/worked because you have to be members of those "departments" to leave msgs/talk to people on those networks...

Besides if I'm not s'posed to know that answer... Jason wont give me the details.

Both their sec' questions are the same... Therefore either the PM just typed something they'd remember easily and is personal to them or it's something for us to work on.

Like I said, the details wont be made availible [IG] if I'm not s'posed to know... It's worth the risk to ASK, rather than just do.

Gaining access to a fake email account on a PM controlled website is used. Gaining access to an account on a service that the PMs don't control (Gmail) is a recipe for disaster. An example:
Players gained access to a Photobucket account in Cloverfield due to a weak password - so weak they thought they were supposed to do it. From there they gained access to a couple characters' email accounts and Myspace pages. Photobucket and Myspace pages were defaced and passwords changed so the PMs couldn't access them for a time. A big mess.

Yeah I know Toasty, I was around for that... It's where I started.

Like I've said, all I did now was ask Jason... He's clearly the PM for Locate; therefore he created the passwords and OOG Would know why I'm asking that question.

IF He wants us to access the email account, he'll give me the answer... If not? He'll merely say he has no idea or something along those lines *shrug*

If we're only supposed to access the email once and retrieve info it's likely he'll never use those email accounts again and would more than likely *change the password* once I, or whoever he gives the info to gains the access to stop the moronic false emails thereafter.

Like I said, was just a thought... Sorry lol

Sorry, was typing while you were responding. I was pretty sure you were around when that went down, just stating for those who weren't. And no, no harm in just asking. Like you said, if you aren't supposed to know, he won't tell you.

I'm thinking this is all still about finding someone in Dallas...

Damnit why didn't whoever it was, hide it in the UK?

Tone it down, please, we haven't all followed the same history as you. And as I have said, they have been used (ill-advisedly, perhaps) in other ARGs.

Update: Jason has "no idea" what Martins first teacher was called so I guess the emails are a no-go!

Back to square uno...

Edit: I'm going to try something... I've just realised Jason has never said exactly HOW he knows either of them or where they first met.... Hmm.

Another Edit: Jason has asked me to spread the word massively... I just left a message on the "Unfictioners and ARGers unite!" group on facebook which says.

"Speaking of Project O... Is anyone in Dallas TX? If you are, contact me on DebonaiRx08 on AIM or email me at LeytonStoneSPLATlive.co.uk - I have a mission for you."

There is another uFer in Dallas, GlitchTybalt, who strangely enough had a friend go for a drop at a different library in Dallas last month for Conspiracy 08.

Assume you were writing as I posted SB? lol.

I kind of took the liberty of doing it being (as far as I know) I'm in the most/main contact w/ Jason... Sorry if I'm just presuming here.

Alright, so we need to find out whatever is dropped off at the library in Texas.

This is unfortunate because I'm quite far away from Texas. Well, good luck you guys who ARE in Texas...I'll just sit in my corner and cry.

Also, I didn't know Unfiction had a facebook group...

Wish I'd had known about that group when we were looking for someone in San Francisco.

Well, if anyone ever needs anything in Miami let me know. Not that anything happens down here... Confused
