Push population, jobs & other questions.

From the Inaugural edition of the Push Times. Article titled "Everything is fine"

"Polls taken by CNBR found that nearly 97% of Push citizens are solidly middle class, earning between $52,000 and $43,000. About a tenth of the town's 10,623 citizens work for the Versailles Casino. Most other locals either own a small business or work for one. Unemployment is about 2%. "

1/10 of 10,623 = 1062 People who work at the Versailles.
2% of 10623 = 212 People who are unemployed.
--------
Total 1274

10,623 minus 1,274 = 9349 people in Push who aren't unemployed and don't work at the Casino.

According to the Chamber of Commerce listings there are:

5 Lifestyle organizations 1 high school, 2 clubs, a museum & a water park
22 businesses
5 entertainment establishments (1 of which is the Versailles Casino)
4 civic groups

Total of 35 other establishments/organizations in Push.
Some of which are clubs or organizations who have no employees. But lets just say for the sake of argument that there are 35 other places to work in Push excluding the Casino.

9349 divided by 35 = average of 267 people working in each of those 35 establisments.

Even taking into consideration that some percentage of the population are children. The numbers don't seem right to me.

Am I WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY too much out there on this?

Most chambers won't promote companies that don't actually belong to the Chamber. In my experience, the percentage of businesses that join is pretty small.

Also, don't forget that goverment usually employs a large number of people.
