You mean the LOL one?

It's not titled properly either I noticed that... PM mistake perhaps?

I think the caginess was an assumption. Obviously someone wants Jason to have that info or they would not have sent him those faxes in the first place. He in turn just asked for our help in finding the usb sticks and relaying the info to him. I see no reason to be hiding things from him. But, I'm not actively playing this just following along. so what ever you all do is fine with me. Just adding my 2 cents.

No I completely agree, I wasn't the one being cagey... I actually said earlier on about not understanding why people wanted to hide things from him as it was he who had the faxes sent to him.

Sylvia, while you're here... I noticed an email you were sent along from Bowty in TGR that contained a bunch of gibberish. Did you figure out what that was? We have similar style text (not saying related) here:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=487123#487123
after deciphering some binary. Any ideas on translating?

still lurking...

I was wondering if leyton had heard anything on that second pickup?

It couldn't happen today... His contact couldn't find the right part of the library. Leyton's going there himself tomorrow.

Edit: I'm kind of wondering why we're being quite so heavily cryptic with Jason. The pictures I think would be as useless to him IG as they are to us... No stegging on them, so may as well let him know what they are?

Plus someone said something about the possibility that not everyone who's playing reads the forums - would be good to have the pictures, at least, for them to play with if we do decide to hoard our gibberish. ;P

Okay, so now I'm slightly frustrated. I have dismantled, and messed with the binary on the USB stick in as many ways as a human being possible can! Why doesn't it decode to anything?!

No idea what so ever. I am actively working on the stuff from the first USB but we may not be able to get a full picture until we get the second one. IDK but I'll keep working on it, too.

As for the email from Bowty in TGR, I was hoping someone could lend a hand on that as well.

We were fighting with it in the chat too... If you put it into Base64, there's bits and pieces that repeat... But pretty much all of it repeats somewhere. Nothing makes sense.

When I left the chat, they'd figured out that .oph actually IS a real extension, having something to do with .opl's... I forget what exactly the details are, Rose found it, but they need another file to be run through a program with, and then it'll work. The going theory at the time, too, was that we need to find the other USB at the other library before we can get anything done. Maaaaajor headdesk moment.

Okay a few things before I go complete this weeks Torchwood mission then go to bed.

1: As was said the contact who went for me today found nothing so I'm going in for an extraction ops mission tomorrow morning between 9-11am (GTM) *God I love this 24 style talk lol*

2: I'm beginning to think whatever's @ the second pickup will give us some leads on what to do w/ the USB Binary, everyone seems to have problems w/ this.

3: I am inclined to agree w/ Zaranai... I honestly think giving Jason this stuff [perhaps just the photos and to do list for now] May just speed along things. - You never know perhaps (unlikely but you never know w/ ARGs) we're not sposed to decode the Binary, it's for his eyes (although I have a feeling IG he wont know wtf to do w/ it).

But maybe someone would like to email him and just let him know that you've uncovered the 5 photos and the to-do list?

*Also* I'm thinking the other thing @ 2nd pickup isn't a USB. It seems to be hidden in the book. (Unless it's like in those conspiracy films where the object is hidden in a cut out section of the book?)

The glimpse of the gold statue behind them in the "MeAndBecs.jpg" picture is the top of the Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace in London.

(You can zoom right in on the Pic, to see the exact detail).

I think libraries would get very upset about cutout books. o.O

I'll send him an email and the pictures... Just have to find the address.

Edit re Moongazer: Righteous. I wondered what-t-f that was.

Yeah it all seems to be around that area.

Buckingham Palace... Charing Cross Road (Henry Irving)...

I'm not far from those places either.

Oh about the .oph extension. Apparently it doesn't exist. It's not in the file extension database and this is a list of all file types/extensions beginning w/ .o from http://www.sharpened.net/helpcenter/file_extensions.php?O

Edit: Zara the book doesn't actually exist @ the library. - I'm thinking it's a plant... The "Shelf Code" (PT2662 etc) I believe is just a reference of where to find the Collier's Junior Classics book.

OH! To add to that... The pic was taken next to a plant - We really don't have random plant pots on our bookshelves @ Brunel library lol

You mean the LOL one?

It's not titled properly either I noticed that... PM mistake perhaps?

That one's talking about the sign on the door in the background, the no food/drink not purchased on the premises whateverwhatever. I've no idea what image you kids are talking about, though.

And a bit of history trolling later I found it again. http://www.allaboutopl.com/wiki/OPLFileExtensions is what has .oph listed as a real extension.

Edit to reply to Leyton's edit XD: Oh thaaat's what that thing in the cup is. Got it now.

Yeah that's the pic, I've just realised the name of the pic "These-Premises-Only-LOL" - Does refer to the background and is labled correctly.

And yeah I found that in chat and reported it as I said it's known as ".tph" on P.C... But was told "no not that type of .tph"

And yeah kind of makes me think the book was planted... Being as the librarian told me that book does not exist in our catalogue lol
