Mayhaps this whole 'decoding' the index page thing is a red herring?
Just a thought....

I would suspect so.

Probably. Under author I recognize "coffeegirl18" as another real player.
And: Uberg33k
and notgordian
First author rots to "smuge" or reverses to "eGums", neither a "real" member like the others. In the first topic i think the red letters may rot (25) to something, but on my screen i can't tell them apart.
Edit: or maybe not, looks like junk.
Whoa, thats the 2nd biggest spider I've ever seen!!

I think the coded uF page is just that. Multiple codes that show us the screen shot of uF on a particular day.
GM vs PM. Game Master vs Puppet Master. Probably just the same thing. The term Puppet Master harkens back to the start of ARGs when it was felt the game authors were "pulling the strings of the players" (so to speak). Over the years, we have just habitually used PMs as an all encompassing term referring to the folks behind the curtain.
Of course they are interacting with the players - through their characters (or making themselves a character in telling the story). It's a well established nomenclature and has nothing to do with elitism or otherwise. But now we're getting into another META conversation.

lol well if I am not mistaken this game was designed to inspire meta conversation.
I just feel - totally my opinion that Puppet Master is suggestive of having power over the players when I think games like this should be a bit more collaborative and less about 'pulling strings'. It is just the mental picture I get from it gives me the impression of a GM's potential ego at having a title as such. Subjective opinion and I think I am pretty alone in that - what can ya do?
So I suppose we have to befriend the GM to meet the quota then?

So all META debate aside...is there a story to this "ARG" besides a woman who clearly got dumped? With so many people interacting with the PM, has anyone actually interacted with a character? Wondering if this is actually going to be an ARG, or someones rant. Not that it's not interesting, but it determines where this thread should be.

Yes there is a story here - which I believe will develop further if I am not mistaken - it seems to be multi-pronged - and the character is the GM and the GM is the character.
I believe this to be an ARG regardless of the meta inclusion. And I think that is kind of the point trying to be made.
I understand the 'genre restrictions' as it were - but if everyone is just making it up as it goes along anyway shouldn't we be able to change the rules that define things?

My question is, what is the 'quota' for? Is it the art thing, the number of participants required, or something entirely different?

I'm thinking that also, a specific number of players or art has to be reached. Question is how many?

It's times like these when I wish the fora had a /ignore function.
