You know, any site that links to ILB.com, or mentions honey or bees in any way, is automatically in-game. It's true, I read it in a magazine.

If that's the case I ain't doing. No offense to anyone, but I don't want to read about furries. I got nothing against them, but I just don't want to read about 'em. There are just some things I don't need/want toknow any more about. So if someone else wants to do delve it to the legitimacy of this site all I can say is, "It's all you man!" Just my thoughts on it all.

94.9% sure it is a hoax

I'm 94.9% sure it is a hoax for a few reasons.
1. it is introducing a new character into the plot.
2. there are no traces of secret 7s so far
3. there is a link to a random blog.
4. so far the ilovebees rgn has stayed contained to the ilovebees domain

the only reason why I thought it could be real is that it costs money to create a dot com website. and usually hoaxers find ways around paying money for a hoax.

Or hoaxers take a site they already own and modify it so it pops up in a new search parameter. Trolls come in all flavors, including RICH.

This has slight relevance to this topic, and I didn't want to make a new thread.

What can we consider in game and out of game? Is ilb the blog the only things we can consider in game? What if we found something on perhaps the Halo 2 website, etc? Are the links from ilb considered in game, or are those just a bunch of dead ends?

Nope, right now the only "in game" sites are ILB and the blog.

..and that site from the first post is a hoax. Not only is it a hoax, but it's been SPAMMED all over...

Links found from the ILB page either from soving a discovered puzzle or from e-mail contact with the only two valid e-mails we have currently, can be verified as IN GAME. You may have found a site that the Designers will use, but until we find a direct link (puzzle based from the ILB website or information from Dana - e-mail or telephone answering greet or from the Entity using Aunt Margaret's e-mail).

Anything found by direct link is able to verify future pages and contacts for the same reason.

Examples: Dana's answering machine outgoing message (Incoming messages are from players like you and me, and from Trolls, while it might be fun to listen to, there won't be any real information there). Dana's BLOG which was found by direct link from the ILB page. Dana and Aunt Margaret's email found on those pages.

Please note: Hoaxers may use different extentions (like .net or .uswhen the actual e-mail address is a .com or .org) so please check the whole string and not just the user name at the front, also check the middle and the sides to see if it matches exactly the contact data. (Example on the Bungie forum was a message from Ladybee777@hotmail.NET which is a completely ficticious address. Shame on them.)

If not, we have a quick flash freeze process that will preserve the freshnes of those lovely fish for the traditional cookout after the game.
Additional Freezers have been ordered and a new wing just for these has been added to the storage facility.

/me looks at the site map for the facility

I think we are going to have to buy more land soon. Just for my stock of trout past and future. Wink

*Edited to add*
Note: this does not mean that all pages linked from a known in game site can be considered as In Game (looking at the list on the ILB links page)

I just want to point out that random searches and pages that have no starting point from inside the game can be ruled out until we have a real link. Which may include identical whois registration information (but that is a bit like cheat codes you can use it, but you might miss a lot of info you will need to put back in later if you skip trying to find where in the puzzle the new page fits).

One good general rule of thumb, pages created well before the first web site are generally out of game.

Edited topic for clarification. I'll leave this thread open for now, but I too would like to mention that not everything with reference to bees is automatically related. Anyway, Magesteff said it all wonderfully Smile

Readind throught this guy's many pages, he seems to be a strange d00d. That beeing said, here is a quote from the oldest entry in Dana's blog:
Quote:

The Damage
In a flurry of wishful thinking, I imagine a huge demographic overlap between bee fans and webmonkeys.

This blog is born.

You're reading this, so I'll assume you've already witnessed the damage over on my aunt's web site. That's how you got here, right? (Unless your last Google search included the terms "honey," "SOS" and "WTF".) Hmm... now I'm actually curious to see what that turns up.)

SO.... This guy puts the terms "honey," "SOS" and "WTF" in headlines on his web page so that he becomes "what that turns up." He just wants more page hits.
EDIT:
And it looks like that's what he got.

What's frustrating is that I can't help but think that had been a clue, when Dana had done it.

But now... of course, it's lost in the flurry of OTHER things.

Can some of the folks who'd been in the ARG from the beginning tell us if they'd located anything chasing that clue?

i noticed on www.xydexx.com that the swirls in the background are text. when they are swirled back into normal shape they are the Microsoft studios logo. I dont know what this means... its probably too obvious to be an "in game" clue.

hmm... that was just changed very recently.... last time I was there the page was exactly the same except the backgound. It was an inverted black&white pic of some old building. I think he's just having his own special fun. Dunce
