The incident was tragic and a bit ironic; it was supposed to be the experiment that put us on the map. We were a research team sent by the U.S. government to investigate the strange reactions that only occurred in the waters of Wassaw Sound. I can't delve too deeply into what exactly the reaction's base is, but I can tell you it is a chemical reaction that only those particular waters can produce. In conjunction with the detonation of a nuclear weapon, this reaction is the very reason manifestation of a possibility plane is possible. We were merely trying to recreate the reaction; open the gate.

It was once called the Tybee Reaction, but once we realized what I could do, we referred to it as the gate reaction.

Things did not go as planned, obviously. Instead of opening a gate, as we had simulated, a strange anomaly was generated in its place. It almost seemed to either shrink matter and reconfigure it or simply displace matter. For all we knew, the gate did open, but the reaction was completely violent. Various staff members at the lab site, including my wife, were instantly gone. We had to presume they were dead; they could have been simply vaporized. The radius of the reaction was instead occupied by strange debris, things that none of us had ever seen before. This is why it is assumed that matter was simply reconfigured into something completely different.

You might want to e-mail and ask why you weren't acknowleged (if you got your photo in by the deadline (2/26) and it seems as though you did since it is on the roster.
