I don't think there will be a sequel until late '09 Possibly later With all that Bad Robot has going on. Especially since they are knee deep in Star Trek.
It doesn't seem to me like they would have the time until least after the Star Trek post-production

I think he can direct one movie and still be producer of another movie. it probably doesn't take much.

Come to think of it.
JJ was gearing up the 4th season of lost during the Cloverfield production.
Still seems like a ton of work directing one movie and producing another

you'd be surprised how much Abrams could be involved with Cloverfield, and still direct a television show and a movie.
they are already well in production for Star Trek and they film a lot of LOST episodes within a certain span, so I imagine he does have free time to meet/work with Goddard and Reeves...
I think Abrams gets a lot more credit then he should, for the amount of work he does. In my opinion.
He did assist in the filming and was the consusltant for the "director" of the viral marketing but it's not like Abrams is writing or directing it.

Not really, LOST is his top priority right now. He pushed Star Trek aside until 2009.

Well yeah. But not Dark Tower, he hasn't actually confirmed that as far as my knowledge goes.

ACTUALLY... not really.
Dark Tower is strictly in the drafting/brainstorming stages. that doesn't require much as filming would, especially with King and that other guy helping him

you mean Lindelof?..lol
according to this they are doin more then brainstorm on it.
King continues though and mentions Abrams and Lindelof, "And I know J.J. Abrams work and Damon Lindelof, his collaborator on Lost. David is just a total comic-book freak and loves The Dark Tower. He likes those books and I trust those guys, cause they've got a lot on the ball. So, when they said 'We'd like to talk about doing this,' I said 'You know what? Why don't you option this and see if you can develop it.' And they said 'How much do you want for an option?' And I said 'nineteen dollars.' And that's what they paid me, and that's where it is."
I have only read the first four in the series and have the other three sitting on my shelf waiting to be read and there is also a comic book series out there, of which I am not sure if it is new stories in the series or pieces from the books, but who knows, maybe that is what they are adapting since King does mention how much of a comic fan Lindelof is.
4 in a series done? Dont know if thats what abrams/lindelof have done for King

It would make sense that it wouldnt come out until late 09 , seems to always be about a year and a half to two year gap between movies. Transformers 2 will be out about two years after the first. but it all comes down to how fast the sequal will be greenlighted and how long it takes to film. The Dragonball movie is filming between nov 07 and march 08 and is being released in June if my memory serves me right, and thats a big budget movie ( around 100 mill ). So who knows, could be early next year or late next year
