Ok my map isn't loading so I'm gonna link it @ Photobucket hold on...

Edit: Ok here we go... My net's being super slow. I think it's probably the storm(s) we're having here right now...

And with that, I'm off to watch Ghost Hunters International and then sleep... Later all!

We've got five numbers and five postcodes. Reckon there's anything to that?

...and we've got storms too. I dunno, first earthquakes, now storms! England gone mad! Laughing

The Duke of York, Kings Cross Railway Station, N1 9AP

There is nothing remarkable about this place other than it's on platform 8 of the London terminus for trains from such exotic and diverse places like Leeds or Aberdeen...

Anyone else thinking the ? is another post code that we have to figure out? Is there a pattern to the ones we have, maybe going off the subway stop numbers?

I know nothing about British subway geography. XD

[quote="Leyton Stone"]Possible... But The National Portrait Gallery is in Charing Cross... Possibly one of the postcodes in the other files?

For what its worth, Charing Cross seems to be the closest tube station to Trafalgar Studios‎. If I'm reading google maps right and if that's accurate.

So we have 3 tube stops a theater and a Rover dealer? How large an area does a postal code cover? Would having someone on the ground in London help? 10 time zones away, but thinkin...

EDIT--

If the number string is another postcode, it's not a simple letters-to-numbers type.
For London, proper, the valid postcode prefixes are:
E
EC
N
NW
SE
SW
W
WC

Codes starting with "H"[8] are:
Code:
HA0, HA9 Wembley           WEMBLEY
HA1, HA2 Harrow            HARROW
HA3      Kenton,Wealdstone HARROW
HA4      Ruislip           RUISLIP
HA5      Pinner            PINNER
HA6      Northwood         NORTHWOOD
HA7      Stanmore          STANMORE
HA8      Edgware           EDGWARE

For those wondering... A postcode usually refers to a small street, or maybe twenty or so houses. If a company or institution is large, it may have one to itself, or even more than one.

I also wondered if we had to find another postcode. On the other hand, could it mean the document isn't fully decrypted yet?

Thanks for postcode info. Not fully decrypted seems possible.

The two locations we know from the photos are Victoria Monument in Queen's Gardens? and Henry Irving near the Nat'l Portrait Gallery. Both are close to our postal codes.

Could the '?' refer to POs places of power/mystery? What was the exact phrasing? I can't find it.

As Sarah and I mentioned those postcodes all seem to be in pretty close radius.

Maybe the "?" (P.Os HQ or w/e) is somewhere inbetween all those Postal codes?

And yeah as Sarah said sometimes a Postcode could belong to just one building such as the Bond St tube station... Although it could relate to an area larger than a small street or 20 or so houses.

My old postcode was N1 3AE and it related to more than just one small street; it related to a whole borough in London lol

I think I have worked it out Very Happy

Quote:
W1K 7TP - Park Lane Rover, Park Lane London.
N1 9AP - Duke of York Pub, Kings Cross, London
SW1A 2DY - The Trafalger Studios, London.
W1V 9LB - Piccadilly Circus Station, London.
W1R 1FE - Bond Street Station, London.

They are places on a Monopoly Board. The address of the third one (Trafalgar Studios) is actually 14 Whitehall, London SW1A 2DY ......... so if we insert Whitehall there, we have:

1) Park Lane
2) King's Cross
3) Whitehall
4) Piccadilly
5) Bond Street

Looking at a Monopoly Board (view the English version): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monopoly_%28game%29

Starting at Park Lane, and moving clockwise round the board, following the pattern of the numbers 8, 8, 16, 5, (7), we land on the correct squares.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Therefore, following on, the fifth number (7) takes us to Old Kent Road.

I have entered "Old Kent Road" on the Authorise Page of P.O., and received "Congratulations, authorised". Very Happy

Not sure what to do next .... but I think 10 people have to do it.

Very nice solve! I put it in as well, so we need 8 more to authorize.

Thanks, Toasty Smile

Looking at it again, it seems as if we may have to put in Codes for each of the six Auth.OPH files.

Working on the theory that each one was one of the places on the Monopoly Board, which would seem logical - we have six codes, and six places - (one of which has been unlocked with the solve), I have now put "Bond Street" into every one of the other Auth.OPH files numbered 2 to 6, but have received "Incorrect Code" for each.

This has used up one of my attempts at each, so we may have to be careful. Hrm, can't imagine what else is needed!
