Have any of the recipients tried the blacklight thing or holding the olympic poster up to the light and looking (from the back) for any evidence of paint, marker, etc. on their fronts?

I just checked my paper items with a blacklight and didn't see anything immediately apparent.

I'm curious to find out what happened when robinsloan went to Olympic way today. Hopefully there was something there worth noting.

Probably nothing since the only Olympic Way in the SF area is in a completely different zip code. The zip code on the return address is from the Mission District. I think "1920 Olympic Way" is just another reference to the 1920 Olympics.

I think we need to start our research at the 1920 Olympiade. Here are all the results from the events. And the medal count.

So am I, since there is no Olympic Way in San Francisco. There is an Olympic Way in Daly City (the city immediately south of SF) and it isn't much of anything.

Unless there is some supah sekrit San Francisco Olympic Way of which I am unaware. Cool

Alas, Olympic Way

Yeah, given the nonexistence of the address Olympic Way was a long shot, but it felt a shame not to scope it out since it's so close:

Another line of inquiry: Is this test page on findthelostring.com just behind-the-scenes garble, or something interesting? The "f440e" caught the eye of a friend who was poking around there. (My is-this-a-code sense is still pretty undeveloped, I have to say.)[/url]

i have actually been saving all the pictures that everyone has been getting and there are two pictures that there are more of and they of the Track and field and the lake with the clubhouse and docks, but there are more of the clubhouse and dock on the lake pictures than there are of the track and field or any other pictures, so maybe the secret has to do with the clubhouse and docks on the lake.

Wikipedia says the Olympic flag was flown for the first time at those games. I think that means it was the rings' first appearance; they were designed in 1913-14, but the 1916 Olympics never happened, so they had to wait 'til 1920 to be a part of the show.

So, in short: 1920 is when the rings debuted.

Anything's possible: But, once all the usual suspects have checked-in, there'll probably be a fairly even distribution. Of course, that doesn't explain the codification added to the pictures that the rest of the IOC Museum pics don't seem to have..

As are we all, I believe. However, that Reference number looks rather suspicious:

All Horses you say?

Nothing but horses in the video.

The above are some results from the 1920 Olympics, those concerning Horses.

Wikipedia says:
Quote:
Equestrian may mean:

* A horseback rider (see equestrianism)
* Equestrian (Roman), a member of one of the upper classes in ancient Rome
* Equestrian sculpture, a statue of a leader on horseback
* Equestrian nomads, one of various nomadic or semi-nomadic ethnic groups whose culture places special emphasis on horse breeding and riding
* Equestrian at the Summer Olympics, a division of Olympic games competition.

Out of interest

Just out of interest San Francisco is going for the 2016 games

Some of the sports in the photographs
There are three shots of water - there is diving (the platform) and water polo (in one shot you can see the goal in the water and people), the other shot is where the rowing was held

Stadium - lots of people and a soccer goal which is the invasion of the pitch after the match when one of the teams walked off 40 minutes early, the others I have no idea about

The referance changes each time, if you keep refreshing you get a different referance code.
