I'm noticing points 1 to 5 and 2 to 7 referenced a lot in medical terminology and scientific too.

well, what kind of points are there???
Let's just brainstorm for a minute..

Loads ...... "Point" is a word with a so many different meanings - up to 150, taking all the extensions into account.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/point

When taken with the variables for interpreting the numbers, e.g. 1 to 5, 125, something with 'five points' (like a star) .............

the words "needle" and "haystack" spring to mind Confused

Seeing academic analysis of leet made my day, I think. Very funny stuff when you think about how absurd it is.

Sorry I haven't been around much, or been much use of late... I've been working and riddles aren't my strong suit. I did feel a bit better about myself that the last one was indecipherable and had to be brute-forced in the end... At least I didn't miss something obvious. XD

Why do I keep entering here AFTER the thing's been solved? T_T Jk.

EDIT: Why does it say that I authorized it on April 3?

Uh...objection to that...I don't think that that damned 002 password was a 'duh'-worthy puzzle...

I'm still wondering *why* "G7" is the answer to #2... did I miss something?

Only reason I could justify
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G7

Still doesn't explain why though.

There's a star class system that has a G7. According that, the sun is a G-class (G2V, specifically) star. Whatever G7 means in that might have something to do with the astronomy theme this game has going on.

Edit: Been looking up G7 stars and constellations, and most of what I'm finding is about a double star called Algeiba and that there're G7 stars in the Orion and Leo constellations. I've been trying to figure out if there are any in the Ophiuchus consteallation, but I've gotten very confused by the technical things I've found about it... Far as I can tell, there is one in it.

As I was riding the bus home it occured to me that G7 is a Battleship co-ordinate. And G=7th letter.... The Monopoly connection... But 42 was purely Lit/pop culture.

Points... Compass, Backgammon. The numbers make me think of sports and games, but that may be misleading. Scores are usually given w/ highest first. exception=net sports where server is mentioned first.

4:49, 6:58, but what does that have to do with points???

Any game where you can do something to go from 1 to 5 points, and 2 to 7. You'd have to be able to score 1,2,4 and 5 points...

The only English game I could think of is rugby (which I tried, and it's a no), cricket (which I thought scored higher), soccer and darts (which scores higher, too).

I only tried "rugby", though.

Indeed it was. It was the most literal clue yet... We just had to work out which letter & which number lol
