[QUESTION][SPEC] Odd image I had seen this before and had just dismissed it but since it's been kinda slow here I descided to chase after a few things. When I erload the home page I noticed a little image loading before everything else and then dissapearing really quick. Sometimes there would be two of them, the other a little to the right. Well I descided to try and get a screen shot of it. I've got one, here it is. What do you think? It's down near the bottom http://www.coe.uncc.edu/~ksharbin/SPDR/odd.bmp . And yes it appears every time.

p.s.
I've got HTML turned on, why doesn't my link work?
EDIT: For URL. FYI, html tags don't work in BBCode. Try the handy buttons in the message posting screen. - SG

Connection Speed I have a cable modem. And if you can think of anyway that I can prove it to you go right ahead, nothing comes to mind for me

there is an easy way to prove it, sort of, at dslreports.com, however, I don't think that will be necessary. Do you have some anti-spyware programs on your computer? If not, it could be spyware tracking or searching or some such nonsense.

I meant prove that I hadn't faked the picture. I tried looking in my temporary internet files folder, but there isn't anything in there
I'm not running any particular theme for my Win XP
I run Ad-Aware fairly often and I'm careful about what I download so I don't think any spy software.

I think with the way the game is going, if it is there it is there for a reason. We just need to find out why!

I just went and looked at ILB again didn't see anything new on the home page. Some of the pictures have distortions I haven't seen before. Does that indicate new text?
Oh and the Comatas text is now readable!

Looks like scrollbars to a tiny box to me. However, I can't think of any way this could be hidden in HTML but still loaded, really. And I'm betting it's probably just a glitch in loading the page?

Well, I tried it on the other computer we have at the house and I don't see it there. Maybe it has something to do with it loading the wav files. I don't know. If I am the only one seeing it I doubt that it is of any great importance.

it is probably the two hidden sound files on the front page that are set to autostart=false.
it is strange that they load them both, but neither play on the front page.

It's the audio file, I swear. I attatch them to my blogs all the time and it always displays that image. It has nothing to do with the game. Please direct your attention to more important clues now...

Usually sites do stuff like that (load sound files without starting them; loading images as single 1x1 pixels; loading images through JavaScript) as a caching mechanism. Usually, this is employed to preload the alternate rollover images in a menu--otherwise, when you move the mouse over a button that is supposed to change, you have to wait a few seconds for the image to change (often with a blank or broken image in its place). I could easily see them wanting to do something like this so that when you click onto a page that uses the sounds, they occur instantly instead of after a loading delay.
