Cloverfield Documentary Production, LAST CALL FOR HELP!
If I don't get interviews, I don't think it's happening!

I haven't received a single interview from anyone. If it's going to happen, it's now or never. All I need is a few interviews. If I don't get any, I don't think I'll be making it. I want to make it, but I do need interviews.

I'm officially announcing the development of an in-depth documentary on the Cloverfield phenomenon.

I hope to make a well-produced and detailed documentary covering the entire experience from first trailer to post-release. It will cover as much as I can without being repetitive or boring. I will attempt to make the doc in such a way that it wouldn't be just for Cloverfield fans, but for anyone. If someone wanted to know what exactly Cloverfield was all about and why it's so popular, this would be the video to watch. An early guesstimate would put the running time at about 40 minutes in length. I'll always keep the audience in mind, so even at this running time, it should hold the viewer's interest for the whole time. I still hope to release the documentary on the same day as the DVD, but release date is subject to change, for earlier or later.

I hope to get this documentary off and running, and that's why I need your help. Firstly, as you can see, I've placed a poll in this thread for the title of the doc. I want a title that everyone feels is worthy to encompass the entire experience of Cloverfield, and I'd like to hear the one you guys like best. The option with most votes (after averaging a few forum polls) will likely be the title. Also, keep in mind that The Cloverfield Phenomenon, while awesome, was also the title of Brad Johnson's documentary, so it might not be good to repeat it.

Secondly, I'm in need of fan interviews. The following is a list of questions and issues I'd like for you to discuss in your video. You don't have to do all of them if you don't want to, or if there's something not asked here you'd like to say, go ahead. Say as much or as little as you want. Every bit helps. Just film yourself with a video camera (digital camera is fine, too, or if it's all you have, I'll take a webcam video) and you can either upload it to YouTube or preferably a file hosting site (i.e. Yousendit, Mediafire, etc.) and I'll take it from there.

*Note* If you have a Slusho or Cloverfield T-shirt or cap, or any other Cloverfield merchandise, go ahead and display it in your video. That would be a good touch. And the questions:

Who are you? Just tell me who you are so I can put a name for the subtitle for the beginning of your video segment. But also tell a little about yourself, mainly for the purpose of explaining how vast the fan base is (and that it's not just little kids on their computers all day).

When did you first see the trailer and/or get involved in the viral?
What made it interesting for you?

How much were you involved in the viral marketing?
Theories, analysis, arguments?
How much were you anticipating the movie (at various stages in the viral)?

What were the high points and low points of the viral?
Favorite sites?
What, if anything, ever made you want to hug/kill J.J. Abrams?

How much of a fan were you?
Did you tell everyone you knew about it? Stories from public situations would be cool.
Did you buy any merchandise?
Did you make any analysis or theory videos, any spoof videos, or an entry in the Slusho contest?
Did you pre-order the action figure? What did you think of it?

What did you think of the movie?
As a monster movie?
Did it live up to the hype?
In what way?
How was the monster?

How have the fan forums developed into a close community? What makes Cloverfield fans unique?

Keep in mind that when you're answering these questions, this documentary will be not only for Cloverfield fans, but anyone who would watch it. Wallow in detail and complexity. Explain unique details, such as naming the monster, community quirks, and things like that. Things that any random person might find interesting.

Lastly, I may need help in other areas. I want the doc to have a smooth and intelligent-sounding narration. I'm not the best with words, so I hope to have someone to work with me on writing. I have a few people who may be interested, but it wouldn't hurt to have a bit more help.

Or if anyone has any basic ideas for the doc (in terms of structure, presentation, etc), I'd like to hear them. Just post them here. And I could use suggestions for music to use for the background. If I use your interview, or any other form of help from you, you will certainly be noted in the credits.

If you have any other suggestions or comments, let me know. Thanks.

actually, I think I'd argue the exact opposite.

the "something terrible" line really stands out to anyone who has seen the movie.

more people probably wouldn't understand the "I saw it" one because it got taken out of the movie. but that's why I like it. because it reminds me of all the douches who thought Reeves was saying A LION.
