Re: Olympic running?

So he's maybe an olympic runner. And Ariadne ... olympic martial arts? is there such a thing? She MUST have known Tai Chi ahead of time to get all 108 forms on the first try. But I don't think that there is such a thing as "Olympic Tai Chi".

Question

I made a post a few up saying that at this year's Olympic Games, Tai Chi will be exhibited (but looking further, apparently not part of the games like I originally thought). The Chinese Olympic Committee is setting up a Wushu tournament that is neither a demonstration or exhibition

Also, they have Taekwondo as part of the program.

Esperanto

I think there must be a link to the use of esperanto on the tattoo. 5 people all speaking languages. Esperanto was designed as a common second language. Perhaps the key for them to connect with each other is this language?

Except none of them knows this language. But mostly can work on the English and looks like we are finding folks who help with the other languages.

I'm a bit mystified why the characters want eachother's emails and not wanting to post their communication with eachother on a public site.

Hopefully there will be some sort of IG forum and we all can benefit rather than this piece-meal email back and forth (which is really cool for players to have this one-on-one communication but has a potential for losing good information if a player who isn't in the community here learns something new).

Has anyone been asking Diego, Noriko & Meihu what kind of sport their body seems to like? Sounds like Markus might be involved in a sport that involves running (Soccor maybe??? He doesn't have the build of a sprinter or a marathoner). I like the idea of Diego interested in aquatics. Could he be the swimmer? Perhaps Noriko or Meihu have gymnastic abilities we could ask about???

Remind me not to try and think at 4:30 in the morning...

Quote:
i like this idea of testing different sports... just getting into the different tai chi forms already makes me feel more like myself, if that makes sense. i don't think i knew tai chi before, exactly, but i feel like i have some kind of natural athletic talent at least. not sure for what sport though. so your idea is a good one!!

i have to say though, if i can convince a rifle range to give a gun to a girl with no id i would be very surprised. ha ha.

i don't think the goggles are swimming goggles, do you? you can't see through them at all, i don't think they're meant to keep out water. it seems like they're meant to keep out light, or at least to keep someone from seeing.

thanks for writing, anyway, i am glad to know you...!

diego

Hello!

I took a chance, and sent a mail to Diego.

He answered something like that...

"Jorge, gracias por la ayuda. Ninguna pregunta es molestia, si me lleva
a saber quién soy y qué es lo que me está pasando

No sé exactamente dónde era el laberinto, me enteré después que estaba
en Don Torcuato, llegué hasta Buenos Aires caminando (no recuerdo
tampoco el recorrido), sólo iba mirando fijo a la gente a ver si
alguien me reconocía.

Gracias
"

He mentioned something about a diary... so I asked him if he wanted to share information about it...
Hope he don't mind...

bye!

Do we know the exact day when our Amnesians appeared? Given the 4-year cycle that seems to be emerging, I would have guessed February 29, but they seem to have more post-appearance history than that?

Ariadne woke up on the 12th of February according to her blog. And according to a Flickr mail I just got from Markus he also woke on the 12th. I don't remember off the top of my head if the others have mentioned it.

Also, to avoid double posting. Markus also said he would add a picture to his Flickr account of the clothes he was wearing when he woke up, including the shoes. Smile

Oh, and if you didn't already know, you can add a Flickr photo stream to an RSS reader.

Noriko said also, she is living already 3 week in the doctors house. So for exact 3 weeks it was 12th February

I think there was a hint yesterday that there will be a forum on findthelostring at some point.

Just wondering...
Does Ariadne's outfit look like any of those from the 2004 opening ceremonies.

The only "Renata" I could find from Brazil is a footballer and looks nothing like our "Renata".

ETA: Found a 400m swimmer, too.

two things... one - we've been stickied. woo!

two - all of the amnesiacs are all fiercely driving home the "does anyone recognize me" theme... it makes me think we should be trying to find postings online for new characters who are searching for the amnesiacs... or like "missing person" records, etc. Has anyone done any digging into that tip?

It should be possible for the Amnesians to determine their specialty, just by acting all the possibilities out and seeing what their bodies remember. Humans have "muscle memory," an entire memory system below the conscious level. I remember a story in the New Yorker describing a man who had lost his ability to form new memories (think Memento) who took a walk every day, took the same route, gravitated toward certain people (the friendly ones) on his walk, etc., all informed by muscle memory. He couldn't explain why he did what he did, but his body knew to do it. Our Amnesians should have similar results in their selected fields? (unless this amnesia is paranormal, which is distinctly possible!)

REnata missing

THis is likely nothing, but thought I would post it anyway.

Hard to look up missing persons for the others because we have no idea where they are from or their names.

http://www.afp.gov.au/national/missing/profiles/sa/wolanin,_renata.html

This seems like a dead end as the missing woman went missing in Australia and not Brazil.

Edit to avoid double post

Who goes for a walk at 4am?

4 am his time or 4 am for the person who got the email? He is in the UK after all.

And I frequently go for walks when I can't sleep. I particularly like walking in the evening because it's cooler. I suppose the early morning is much the same.

The other answer to your question is "athletes".
