Ok let me elaborate. Cloverfield 1 the unfolding of an X-files-esque conspiracy. The Tarugato(sp) Corp. is a faction of the illuminati and is an accomplice of the aliens who are helping to bring about a New World Order. The monsters were actually sent to Earth thousands of years ago, sedated and encapsulated in pods that lie deep in the ocean. For whatever reason, the aliens decide that they are ready to invade the planet. As an exploratory exercise the Illuminati/Tarugato(sp) Corp. locate one of the capsules and intentionally drill it open. They then drop a homing device near Manhattan. The monster finds the device and destroys Manhattan. Seeing how sucessful they were with their first attempt at destroying civilization, they free more of the monsters and plant more homing devices near the world's major cities. Admit it, this is a good idea even though the liklihood of it actuall being the plot of the sequel is zero.

 		You're all completely wrong.

Cloverfield 2 is the touching story of MGP/Clover, the giant monster intent on destroying major cities and chomping on people, and Timmy, a little orphan boy with a heart of gold.

Timmy befriends MGP, and together, they show the world how a little love and understanding can go a long way. MGP becomes MHP, Mr. Happy Pants, and together they sing and laugh and plant trees together.

Umm, and then MGP has to eat Timmy, because he was hungry.
