 		might be a good idea to search using the translated phrase of "find the lost ring" in greek, korean, thai, etc etc ?

 		Thoughts from an ARG n00b
Wow! I just spent hours reading all of this. Crazy! Shocked My eyes are buggin'.

Anyway here are some thoughts...
Missing ring/continents/olympic flag:
There is a tradition that says the rings on the olympic flag represent 5 "continents": Africa, The Americas (S. and N. as one), Asia, Australia and Europe.
So far amnesiacs have woken up in Africa, (S.) America, Europe, and 2 in Asia. No one from Australia. This could mean that the lost ring is in Australia. However, since Ariadne is urging us to find more like her, I suspect an amnesiac from Australia will emerge soon (there are 39 labyrinths listed for Australia in the World Wide Labyrinth Locator). Also, there are 2 amnesiacs in Asia, so maybe there are multiples from the other continents.

Diego Malabar
I looked up "malabar" and found "juego malabar" - juggling, and also:
[ Game of skill ] that consists of sending to the air objects and to gather them, maintaining them in balance: games malabares. # adj. and s. Of Malabar or relative to this country of the Indostán.
Maybe he chose this name b/c jugglers found him (am I remembering correctly?), or maybe b/c he has to skillfully keep an object in the air (like a soccer ball) or maybe b/c he has a connection to S. India. (Speccing is limitless!!!)

Is Ariadne Renata?
You'd think she would understand Portuguese if they are the same person, so I say no.

Yarn colors
Did anyone get black yarn or multicolored yarn containing black? It seems the other olympic flag ring colors were present (yellow, blue, red, green), but not black. May mean nothing -- just a thought.

Good game so far. Too bad the acting is so poor.

 		He guys if you have any problems translating spanish to english I can help a lot since im from Argentina. I also speak french, one of the most used languages in Africa.
What if any of these guys is like a diversion or a "false clue", may be there is someone who is there to mess up our progress and delay our conclusions.
Renata`s picture does not look like ariadne, maybe she is the diversion, or maybe we are dealing with someone who really dissapeared.
Tomorow we will find out a new clue so tomorrow is a crucial day.

Sticking to the theory of these characters being athletes, Diego is 5'9, tall indeed, and weights 180 pounds.
He is with a circus company, juggling all the time, maybe he is keen with gymnastics.

I think we can discard that possibility now. Ariadne published a post about Renata in her blog a few hours ago.

Who was trying to get Diego's journal? Was it a successful attempt to find new clues?

I was looking at the designs of some of the labyrinths (from the others' photos and Diego's drawings). Ariadna woke up in a modern lebyrinth. Markus in a medieval one. Diego in a classical one.
Then I was paying attention to the translations of the names. Markus is mystery, Nanashino nameless, Mei-Hui beautiful wisdom, Diego had Perdido, which is lost, and Ariadne, well you know the myth.
Each translation has a direct relation with a labyrinth subject, and a time period. Ariadne is greek, so perhaps is related with Diego, who at the same time is Lost, a modern view of labyrinths, related to Ariadna then. Mei-Hui is beautiful wisdom, always related to enlightenment, medieval concept, thus related to Markus, etc. I won't continue with this because maybe I'm hallucinating Wink

Let's see what happens next...

but it was in Japanese, so I had to run it through Babelfish before I could attempt to make heads or tails of it. Even after the translator - it still didn't make as much sense as I would have hoped. I am hopeful that a talented translator can do better than Babelfish.

First, here is the email I sent to her:

 		Not sure about everybody else, but so far, I'm finding the Google translator to be better than the Babelfish. If we don't get native speakers to interpret the various messages, maybe using both translators will help.

I also see historical connections with Ariadne and the others. I keep thinking about Atlantis and Homer. Atlantis because it was lost. Homer because he was a blind poet who wrote the story of the Trojan War. I believe Troy was mentioned once in connection with one of the Labyrinths. I also thought of Homer when I read some of the messages with the original packages that mentioned blindness and Ariadne and some of the others having their eyes covered. I can't help but wonder if there is a Homer connection.

Malabares is the arte of tumbling or juggling on spanish. Maybe he picked this surname since he is with a group of "malabaristas" or circus people.
btw I speak fluent spanish.

 		Just throwing it out there, and it's probably implied by earlier entires. Is it possible the 'true identity' of these people are not historic real olympic athletes but Olympic gods reborn through time? Anyone know anything from Greek mythology that might support that?
