The Dragonball movie will crush my childhood. They should of at least made it cartoon or animation or something.

with the delay of the Star trek movie from Dec 2008 to March or May 2009 there may be something to the idea that J.J. may be giving himself some time to film "Cloverfield 2"

As you know it didn't take long to film the first 1.

What do you think?

that's a good thought but Abrams said it was strictly what the Studio wanted to do.

I highly doubt it has to do with a Cloverfield sequel

the Sequel isn't through the "handy cam" perspective so I imagine it would have been much harder to film a sequel at the same time... like what The Matrix did.

About the Dragonball movie...

wasnt the cartoon kinda annoying enough?

I WILL DEFEAT YOU!
No you wont. I am a perfect creation!
Ok, lets go to some impossibly empty area to fight.
Cool beans.
*once they appear in a gigantic open desert full of black-hole type crevases and giant crumbling mountians*
*both hover in the air and begin punching and kicking like crazy*
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, is that it? Watch this.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Oh no! I better charge up five more minutes.
KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH-MEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
*opponent repeats the maneuver*
You are strong, but not strong enough!
URRRHRGRRGHRGRHRRGH!
URGRGHRGRHRGRHRGGRH!
GRGRGAHAGAGAAHAGGAGAGHHH!
Oh btw, I killed your father.
GRGH! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
RRAAAAGGAHAGHAGAGAHHHH!!!!
STILL NOT STRONG ENOUGH!
*forces impossibly huge ball of energy the other way*
*hero's father's ghost* IF YAN-CAN COOK, YOU CAN DEFEAT HIM!
Your right... i mustnt give up so easily.
RAARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! *is now supersaiyan level 10*
GWAAAAH! TOO STRONG!
*after 10 hours of fighting, evil guy is oblitterated*

For some reason i liked that show, and will probably see the movie at some point... but you're forgetting the part where the one person charges up a super-attack for like 6 episodes, one that...SUPRISE... the enemy gets up after and brushes off some dirt...

I've just seen little clips on Youtube, but I actually like the basic plotlines and characters. They just need to cut down on the repetitiveness of battles.

Despite how silly Dragonball Z could be at times, I still loved that show. LOVED it. Hell, I still play the PS2 fighting games. For all the standing around for 3 episodes and charging/yelling, the fight scenes were still really good, and huge beams of energy that can destroy planets are fun.

I fear, however, the movie will lose DBZ's charm.

Also, you forgot the part where everyone stands around and twitches/grunts for 10 minutes.

Frieza: "The planet will explode...in 5 minutes."
Krillin: *grunt, twitch*
Piccolo: *grunt, twitch*
Vegeta: *grunt, twitch*
Goku: *yelling/powering up*

NEXT EPISODE
Frieza: "The planet will explode...in 4 minutes."

WOW, THAT'S A LONG FREAKIN' MINUTE.
Very Happy

Still love it, though.

Funny that you bring up that part of the series, just got season 3 dvd set and my wife had never seen the end of the Frieza saga, she was driven mad by that. Each episode was like one minute remaing. That was the longest damn five minutes in history, Akira Toryiama sure had a knack for milking all he could out of something. And i think this wont be so bad in the end. Toryiama is involved in the film ,unlike the last attempt to make a dragonball movie a couple years ago. I never really got into dragonball, im so waiting for the sequal which will pick up with the beginning of dbz, the saiyan saga, and the baddest mofo of all time , Vegeta

Hell yes. Vegeta is my homey.

Word.

I used him in all the DBZ fighting games. Ahhh...using Final Flash on an enemy, and seeing the giant energy beam shoot out from the planet. Good times.

But live-action DBZ? I dunno. It's just going to turn out ridiculous. Super Saiyan hair looks really cool...in cartoon form. I think SSJ hair on a real person would look just...silly.

Besides, I don't there's anyone big enough to play Brolly in the entire world >_>

The hair thing was my big worry too, but in the pics from the set it looks like theyre just going with normal hair

And thus, will be a monumental FAILURE.

I'd be all for some high-quality CGI movie or something. Like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, or that FFVII movie. That would be acceptable.

But live-action DBZ, with normal hair? Fail.
