 		Thanks guys for helping out. Also, it might be a good idea for those of you that have MySpace to add tehskye to your friends and start having some convos with him too. It seems he has also been getting messages from Dr. Bottan. Maybe one of you can get him to forward you a copy of it.

Also, someone see if Lucid will forward the audio file that he got from Dr. Bottan to you.

They keep talking about the gibberish Dr. Bottan sent them, I wonder if it's the same as the one Lucid forwarded to me here.
Maybe we need to figure out what that mess says. I was thinking maybe Stu could help us with that.

 		I don't know if there's anywhere to go with this, but that gibberish looks more like broken source code.. for an example, open up a Word document, paste in some random text, and then open it up in Notepad.

I've also seen it before in e-mails when someone tries to code out a graphical presentation and it doesn't work over e-mail, i.e. credit card ads and Viagra junk mail.

But maybe I'm just forgetting some encryption method.. I'm still fresh to the game of ARGs.

 		decoding giberish
Normally, I would be able to decode it this way:

Paste the giberish into a .txt using notpad.

Open the .txt file with Microsoft Word (must select "all files").
Then when it opens, you will get a popup window that says chose code to make this readable. There is a menu to select different codes and a window to preview it to see if it is readable.

However, I tried it in this case and nothing comes up readable at all, on any of the codes. Maybe someone else can try in case I am missing something. Only one code came up with alot of question marks, but there was no message I could see.

I found some other online decoder that does characters, but when I insert the code - it comes up with transfer to other things like hex, etc.
I have no idea if it means anything -
maybe someone can take a look:
http://software.hixie.ch/utilities/cgi/unicode-decoder/utf8-decoder (I get some kind of an "explanation" result when I select a dropdown of UTF interpreted as Windows 1252. But still doesn't help me.

I am a participant in the Gate Reaction, run by a person I think you might be familiar with. His name is Dr. Bottan. I'm assuming that since you're both with the Lazarus Union, you know what the Gate Reaction is and how it works. (Myself, I am not completely sure of the details-- all I know is that it involves a serious virus and it can seperate people onto different planes of existence (I think)). If you visit thegatereaction.com, you'll find a list of my friends and I, and a claim that we are his 'disciples' (although a few of us have been promoted to acolytes recently).
Dr. Bottan, of course, is a terrorist. He threatened to release upon this virus upon my friends and I unless each of us sent him pictures with the words "I am your disciple" written on it. We did so, of course, and he then proceeded to place the pictures on his website, along with a title, an analysis, a status, and some notes. We believe his 'analysis' of us is an attempt by him to match us to our other selves in the seperate 'planes'-- for example, Sylvia's analysis now reads "Dr. Melianne Beckett", and Jacob's reads "Isabella Bottan" (who is his daughter, by the way). Since then, he has given us another task, and we have had a few meetings with him where we each asked him one question, which gave us much more knowledge about what he is doing and why. My friend created a wiki regarding the Gate Reaction as well, which should answer questions that you might have about us ('us' being all the people currently participating in the Gate Reaction).
The reason I'm writing to you now is that Jacob and Luis, two participants in the GR, recieved an email from Dr.Bottan (who also goes by 'bowty') containing a lot of what looks like pure gibberish. But we were hoping that one of you might have the resources to decode it:

 		Well I hope the PMs ignore that and continue on. Other wise you have just destroyed this whole arg. And why did you mention the wiki, that's for us players not for the PMs or the characters. It's OOG just like these forums. LU already knows about the virus, it's yet to be determined if they are trying to stop it or trying to eliminate what stops it. And you just successfully stepped on natas's, nextday's and shrtyscott3's toes.

EDIT: Maybe we can fix this... Let's all use our heads. LU has asked me for troops, so they seem to trust me for some weird reason. Maybe I can tell them that this "Elite.fencer" character is some rogue agent from ABC Corp. trying to sabotage blahblahblah.  		Have we asked them to look at the gibberish/code for us yet? We could email Creed and tell him it's a computer virus from Bowty, and that the story/information was something he made up to keep them distracted while it worked. Or something like that.

 		Hey elite.fencer, don't get your tailfeathers ruffled here, but I'm gonna send something to L.U. along the lines of that you have had some complications due to the virus and is causing you to hallucinate and you imagined some crazy website and something you keep calling a "wiki" and see their response.

As for my report to Dr. Bottan, due this evening, I'll get back at you guys on that one.

Maybe she's just hallucinating for other reasons? I guess i'll just

that it is a distorted message that was sent out using Dr. Bottan's
experimental device called the gate terminal, which allows one to access
and transfer data between our two worlds. I'm guessing that the intended
message didn't come off as it was supposed to, rather just distorted
gibberish. We can always try and find out what it was that the original
message was supposed to be, if you want.


We're in the clear ... WHEW!!! and we are supposed to find out what the original message is supposed to be. How do we go about that?

 		Ahhh...He had to make our meeting on that day. Im sorry guys but I cannot make the meeting because I will be at a wedding! Basically Saturday is out for me, but I will keep my eyes open for anything from LU in the meantime.

Any word about shrtyscott3 and I yet from LU NataS?
