[SPEC] SPDR found?

he following is taken from a pdf manual for a microcontroler (http://www.mot-sps.com/files/microcontrollers/doc/data_sheet/MC68HC705C9A.pdf page 113)

The serial peripheral data I/O register (SPDR), shown in Figure 10-6, is
used to transmit and receive data on the serial bus. Only a write to this
register will initiate transmission/reception of another byte and this will
only occur in the master device. At the completion of transmitting a byte
of data, the SPIF status bit is set in both the master and slave devices.

So basically, this is a register which controls data transfer over a serial bus. IMO, it seems go along with the operators monologue where SPDR is constantly breaking in and random sections of memory are being accessed.

we also have "Widow stuck in her pin and I threw up a memory" which could very well be the head of a hard drive accessing memory. Sounds like quite a bit of work for a simple register to do, though.

Nope, just one of the many microcontrol specifications found when doing a search for "+eprom +SPDR". After doing some more reading, it seems that SPDR ( serial peripheral data I/O register) is standard in this type of microcontroler.

SPDR is actually just the acronym we've been using for the SYSTEM PERIL DISTRIBUTED REFLEX which is the name that pops up on the warning
