All new passengers, and those old ones with bad memories, read me now
If you have made it this far in your SilverLadder research you have no doubt come across the name Shane Watson numerous times. Yes, Shane was a real live human being and silverladder.com was at one time his website. Mr. Watson is no longer with us, and our current journey has been eluded to as a tribute of sorts. Let your inquiries of this nature end here and now; the above is all there is for us along this specific path.

In the beginning, a passenger attempted to contact the family of Shane Watson. Please do not ever attempt this again, we have already learned our lesson on that one. It has been said now that discussions regarding Shane are flaming up again. A quote from the deck:

in reality, this has very little to do with him (no disrespect), and a lot more with new art and new material made by an assembled group of amazing individuals (which only grows, as we add passengers to the existing deck). no disrespect, but the discussions of him are starting to again reach a level that is concerning to us. if his family is contacted again, i am afraid it will have a negative effect on this journey.

Curiosity and ingenuity are good things, don't get me wrong, but please let this one lie as it is. Please out of respect for Shane's Friends and family, do not research him any further or attempt to contact them.

 		I am reposting a messge I first posted 10/11/07. It was regarding my phone call with the Two of Clubs regarding this issue:

The Two of Clubs is able to see which sites within SilverLadder and the Internet Archive that we have searched for and opened. He said people are searching for creepy details about Shane and digging too much into his private family life. The Myspace Profile many of you have tried to ask as a friend is a tribute/memorial site done by his friends and family. It has nothing to do with anything that is going on now.

He confirmed that they are not trying to hide anything by telling us NOT to contact Shane's family. If they were, they wouldn't be using silverladder.com- a site that had been owned by Shane for years. He wants me to repeat that his family is not a direction we need to investigate in. We will not find any answers there.

2C commends that we are good at searching for answers. He thinks most of us didn't have bad intentions with our searches, but some quests for information about Shane have been very creepy and crossed acceptable lines. 2C said he hates to have rules or boundaries in any of this, but this has to be respected. Shane's family are aware of what is going on and those behind all of this have their blessing. They think Shane would have loved this. Boundaries have to made though.

Out of respect to Shane, his friends and family, please do not try to contact them. Remember, as Athena said 'This is inspired by Shane, but it is not about him".

 		Shane revealed that reason for his pretending to be deceased:
Last summer, a SilverLadder fan began to stalk him. They knew where he lived, threats were made against him and his family, and it was generally unpleasant.

Shane wanted to disappear, so he posted that he was dead. This not only helped to alleviate potential stalking situations, but also helped later in the expansion of the SilverLadder "ARG"

So don't be upset with Shane for faking his own demise. It wasn't malicious, it was done to protect his family and friends from potential harm and bat-shit-insanity.
