Middle top is "ouroboros" unless I'm very much mistaken! Well, that word in Greek letters anyway.

*cough*ouroboros IS greek *cough*

And yeah. vid=awesome.

Agreed that vid=awesome.

Actually "ουροβóρος" is "ouroboros" in Greek letters. The alphabet used is what I meant to say.

That's backwards. Actually, "ouroboros" is "ουροβóρος" in Roman letters. Laughing

www.thelostring.com/delphi produces nothing. also delphi.html and a few others but I suspect I don't know all the extensions to try...

also looked (unsuccessfully) for delphi links from the olympics.org site...

Lots of stuff going on in that vid.

In the part where it zooms way out from New York City, I identified the starting place (shown in the vidcap, below), as Bryant Park.

EDIT: Thanks, ouroboros Smile

sxsw

Will there be representatives from us, ring hunters, attending the sxsw speach?

When they drop hints on this meta-level (the games own trailer) I guess we can expect new info there as well.

or?

There's an image of a random location that shows up at 23 seconds in, and repeats at 1:36. Also, did anyone else count 5 rings rotating around the Earth during Eli's section?

look to delphi

Quote:
Delphi was the site of the Delphic oracle, most important oracle in the classical Greek world, and it was a major site for the worship of the god Apollo. His sacred precinct in Delphi was a Panhellenic sanctuary, where every four years athletes from all over the Greek world competed in the Pythian Games...

The Pythian Games were one of the four Panhellenic Games of Ancient Greece, a forerunner of the modern Olympic Games, held every four years at the sanctuary of Apollo at Delphi. They were held in honor of Apollo two years after (and two years before) each Olympic Games, and between each Nemean and Isthmian Games. They were founded sometime in the 6th century BC, and, unlike the Olympic Games, also featured competitions for music and poetry.

Featured Competitions of music and poetry. I think this is heading in the right direction.

Yeah, i've felt from the beginning this whole thing has a lot to do with homer. I even sent an email saying as much to Eli. Despite two emails, he hasn't even sent a curt "shut up" in reply.

In the second row of the column to the left of the one Hitshermark thinks has ouroboros at the top, I think is the word Olympia.

Edit: On second look, I don't think that's ouroboros.
ουροβóρος doesn't have a lambda in it. and has two rhos.

I've got some more caps from the video going frame by frame up in this set.

swirl's definitely on spot with the phrase. But the satellite locations are what's more interesting now I think. They all seem to be of various locations within NY, then at the end a couple of frames of Delphi, perhaps, and a building...

people have also been trying to figure out the star in a few frames, like this one
