I actually think those ones will work well. Maybe just remake them ourselves with more colour like the ones we got from the Auth files.

The fact is we're s'posed to be uploading them and then also decrypting them together. IE: Some of us upload and then others try decrypting it; because us working on it will distract the site for them to hack it.

For example:

So... we're supposed to create these puzzles, but not tell each other what the answers are?

I think it will be a matter of uploading files and authorizing the files others have uploaded. It will be more about using the system (a lot) as opposed to solving the puzzles. If each of 20 logins could upload say, 5 files to authorize, and then we all go authorize all 100 files that should about do it. Course, we may need considerably more. I bet between us all, we have at least 20 logins. If each one could upload 10 files, I bet we could completely blow the PMs away. With Leyton's personalization idea, with over 250 puzzles on the pages linked, it could totally work.

My question is, is there going to be a specific place Becca will want these "stockpiled" for 1in50 to upload them, or do we save 'em ourselves and then upload at the right time?

Heh, I'm gonna make some obscure puzzle with an obscure answer.
Well, maybe not too obscure since we'll all need to solve them.

Not sure but I've calculated on the site you suggested there's 13 pages of Brainteasers with about 20 teasers on each page... That's 260 teasers...

We'd need say 5 people (Average) to do 2 pages each. And then others who log in later could do the rest... Just to stockpile them at first.

So for example if I take http://kids.niehs.nih.gov/braint1.htm and http://kids.niehs.nih.gov/braint2.htm - You take 3.htm and 4.htm - And so on and so forth...

Then we stockpile our own list of like 25-26 puzzles until Becca gives us the next step?

Edit:

This.

Quote:
You'll need to prepare your images so they're under 200Kb and no larger than 500×500. The authorisation code will need to be entered when the image is uploaded. Think of it like the solution to the puzzle contained in the image.

If we get enough files being constantly authorised, we're likely to be able to jump in and take down the system completely.

Makes it sound like We have to make the images and then as many peeps as possible authorise each one.

So wait-- let me get this straight--
Essentially what we're doing right now is gathering a whole bunch of weird, riddle-y photos, and then each of us is going to upload them to the PO website?
Just want to make sure I don't do the wrong thing Wink
Also, can someone explain to me exactly how this will help? Is it like we're doing a DDoS on the PO site or something?

lol read Becca's latest entry... I'll try and explain best I can.

It seems as though Becca wants/needs us to create image puzzles such as the ones they left for us (auth files) and stockpile them until they're ready... Once they're ready each one of us uploads our auth files - And everyone needs to take turns in authorising them...

All this activity with us authorising, from I can gather will 'distract' the site allowing Gerry/Becca and whoever to hack its mainframe.

Although now I am confused... Does she want us uploading [Crypted] files? Such as what we found in the libraries, or does she want us uploading actual pics such as the one I made, above?

I read it, but I'm being remarkably thick and dense today so I didn't quite understand it x_x Thanks Leyton!

EDIT: Does this look somewhat...good? The authorization would be 'tridecalogism' because they're all 13letter words, and it says 'commonNL' on the bottom (NL means 'Number of Letters')...

That looks/seems a LOT more indepth than I would have created lol

I don't think they're supposed to be TOO Difficult for us to solve but then again I am assuming Becca wants us to tell each other the auth's

I've just posted this on Bec's blog.

Quote:
So Becca can I just get this straight as to what you'd like us to do?

You want us to create what…? Several fake auth files [puzzle pics similar to yours?] Then when you're ready we upload them; along with the correct authorisation? - Then what…? Tell each other the answer and continuously authorise the files so as to cause activity distraction upon the site?

Now they want us to do their work for them...?

Well, my lack of Photoshop skills makes me useless in the creation department, but I'll be more than happy to authorize here and there.

LOL, nighthawk, I'm in the same boat. I just used MS Paint for mine.
And I don't think Becca really wants us to do her work for her--I don't think she has the resources or the time to try to take down the PO site. She's a little busy trying to stay alive Laughing

Okay, I'm confused. Auth 001-006 were all binaries, or looked like binaries when we got them off the USB sticks. Does she want them in that form, or in the picture form that 1in50 translated them into?

This message was brought to you by a complete lack of caffeine. Coffee

I think the binaries were a MacGuffin, and never meant to be translated by humans. We simply needed to get them from point A to point B.

I've had a play.

Geddit? Laughing

So, are we all uploading our files to here, or just keeping them on our computers?

Well I suggested going to the site deathforge found and picking 2 pages each (I took 1 and 2).

Making those puzzles up in our own way and then I believe we have to wait until Becca's ready for us to upload them.

I asked her to specify and elaborate on what she wanted from us, but have heard nothing yet.
