I just got caught up and I'm not sure what we are suppose to do. I won't be here much for the next three days so I wanted to add this in case it might mean something.

Could S4P8 be spyware? when I Googled it that was one of the first things that came up. However, I don't know much about it. Maybe Joshua is telling us they are spying on him and he needs our help on how to get past of it. Maybe we we need to communicate with Joshua via messages in images, and other stuff that he can extract our messages from. After all he has demonstrated that he can communicate via messages hidden in images. Just thinking out loud and maybe I've missed something cause we can't use the Q&A but we can use the internal email.

hope I was helpful and not confusing.

God, what a long day... So nerve racking around here that I didn't even realize it was Daylight Savings last night. Well, at least was an hour shorter; that's got to count for something.

Things are settling down, at least from a network standpoint, but they are still in a pseudo-lockdown. They're monitoring all internal and external communications, and they've temporarily isolated Joshua for now. I can't even play TF2 anymore (not like I had the time anyway).

Not his fault really. Well, doesn't seem like his fault anyway. All the weirdness has been in secondary systems, specifically our mail servers. I've seen things like this happen before; somebody downloads a neat new screen saver that happens to have a zombie-fier virus attached, and pretty soon it floods the network.

On the bright side, at least I got to spend most of the day listening to Nina Simone. Made things a hell of a lot easier to deal with.

Tomorrow I'll either have to go to corporate to reinstall the OS on several machines, unless I can find some lackey to do it for me. Again, a safety measure: SOP in these situations.

Things should be back to normal (well, as usual anyway) by tomorrow.

For now... to sleep, perchance to... Zzzzzz...

Two things that jump at me immediately...

The vocabulary of the text consists of just fifty different words, of which 49 are monosyllabic -wiki

using only a total of 49 different words, 48 of which are monosyllabic. -Joshua

From the wiki:
Quote:
The vocabulary of the text consists of just fifty different words, of which 49 are monosyllabic (the one exception being "anywhere").

Duh, just reread Pancito's. The idea is he obviously read the wiki entry and quoted it about the pal thing, but got the numbers wrong - 49 and 48 instead of 50 and 49.

And for completeness:
Quote:
The fifty words used are: a, am, and, anywhere, are, be, boat, box, car, could, dark, do, eat, eggs, fox, goat, good, green, ham, here, house, I, if, in, let, like, may, me, mouse, not, on, or, rain, Sam, say, see, so, thank, that, the, them, there, they, train, tree, try, will, with, would, you. 45 of the 50 words (all but box, car, Sam, train and try) are of Germanic origin.

ETA: We had numbers 4 and 8 from the scrabble tiles, now 48 pops up here. Hmmm...

I was thinking it was intentional, but don't ask me why, cause I *still* don't know. Letter/number combos seem to be important, but maybe the story Joshua is telling with his critique is what matters on this one.

And it isn't bad enough that the admins are threatening to throw us in jail, now we have a moralistic AI sheesh.

Edit to kill the effin smilies

ETA

My point exactly. Plus Ivan noted that we were tracking reading/listening suggestions, that he'd been listening to Nina Simone all day, and I'm pretty sure no one actually suggested that song. I *think* I would have remembered. The Indigo Girls I'm not sure about...

48sam.com/net / sam48 =fail

Yet another ETA. I'm wrong teh_lisa mentions nina here

maybe Joshua doesn't consider the hyphenated phrase Sam-I-am as a monosyllabic word but a compound modifier

You don't have to be a beta tester to make suggestions, simply fill out the form on the blog:
http://lglabs.net/Blog/?BID=4&EID=7

As for the song suggestion, nothing says everyone who's following here posted what they submitted, and it's possible that there are others outside of uF following as well.
