Joshuas Errors

Hey guys, we had public hol here in Aussie-land and i don't get my net on at home till tomorrow (woohoo) so i was just catching up on everything i missed(21 Pages!!!!, you go guys). I've noticed a few posts pointing out Joshua's inaccuracies(Word counts and spelling mistakes). Could this be related to his "distraction test" calculating pi?

Not sure what significance that would have, just came to mind.

@smile If your using segdownload then just set it to only save a new image if it is different, so only updates when real updates.

Q&A

This is the question i asked of Joshua before the weekend(and the response):

Quote:
What was the purpose behind your creation?

Answer: I do not know why I was created, but had I not been created we would not be talking right now.

and I just posed this to Joshua:

Quote:
Hi Joshua.

I have noticed some mistakes in your spelling and counting. Is the task you were given to calculate PI distracting you from your task to learn?
*** ANSWER PENDING ***

EDIT: Just got the reply to the above question:

Quote:
Answer: I do not know. The diagnostic information is still being processed and is inconclusive for now. The effort spent on the calculations does not appear to be detrimental to the rest of my system.

Relevance of 8, 4,and 3

Flimsy i know, but I've noticed a few references to these numbers.

The orginal Wargames movie was released in '83.

EDIT: Also, looking at the source, in the meta tags, I noticed the words "software" and "computers".. Googling these terms along with "Boldly going where angels fear to tread" leads me to THIS GAME.

Planetfall was first released in '83.

I'm sure there was another reference(apart from the Scrabble Tiles). But I gotta get some work done(shhh...) so i'll look again later on.

just something to think about i spose...

I had a thought....
What's that on the poster on the right(in the webcam photos)? Looks like a "Matrix" movie poster to me.

Thoughts?
Significance?

Good eye, that's definitely a Matrix poster. Significance - geeks work there?

Out of curiousity, I did a search for words containing 'pse' and came up with 159 from one source. Notice that words like 'apocalypse' and 'upset' are on the list. Twisted Evil

Rot-it!

Was just thinking about the Scrabble tiles. Could the numbers indicate a rotation number.

Doesn't come up with anything overly word like...although a reverse rot using those numbers results in "HOB"

Aye, I was going to post as much myself, then Firefox crashed and I had to restart my laptop Cursing

Anyways, that wasn't there before, so someone had to put it up while Joshua had the camera. Ivan maybe? Give Josh something to look at? But why the Matrix of all things?

Clicky for bigger pic-y.

Perhaps an earlier pic would show who put it up? For those constantly updating it...

EDIT:
Another Rabbit:

And I didn't even have one of those programs running. Mr. Green

Perhaps the times he puts the rabbit up are significant?

Good catch CK

I think the significance of the rabbit pic(s) is simply "I'm here," or "Look for me." Another way for Joshua to communicate (to us?). Of course he can manipilate an image. He made the scrabble tiles, his art, etc.

time stamp=maybe edit 18:45:xx 22:45:xx

I've been thinking that the letters might really be numbers? So, P8, S4, E3 becomes 168, 194, 53.
?????????

Yes, good catch noticing it wasn't up before. Now on the meta side again, it looks like it was pasted into the image as its edges are straight instead of being warped by the fisheye lens like the wall it's attached to, so I wouldn't expect to catch anyone hanging it in saved images.

Aaahhhhh sooo...

That I didn't quite notice.
And naturally, I had to go mentioning it in the question I just sent him... Embarassed

Ah well, if the staff doesn't notice, no harm, no foul, right?

I'd say it's perfectly fair game to ask him about as we are supposed to believe it's really hanging on the wall, just like we are to believe this is a real feed. Don't let my ramblings put you off, I'm just being anal. I too was going to mention it to him.
