Do you think the files found by sapagoo indicate that something hasn't worked right with the secret games/omphalos since world war II?

dante pointed out in chat that the OMPH Strength peaked at the 1920 Olympics, the same as the posters we received. Coincidence?

(and I didn't find the files, just documented how to read them all. I wasn't the first to find them)

Okay, so obviously the command line is based on Linux shell (probably BASH). Okay, so just for some background for people who don't know Linux: the "MAN" command stands for manual, and under normal circumstances, the "MAN" command brings up an explanation of whatever command you type after it (ie: MAN LS or MAN CD).

If you type "MAN" at the command prompt, you get "what manual page do you want?" I take this to mean that the manual command works for SOMETHING, but I can't figure out what. None of the commands that we have found to work so far have brought up a manual page (i just get a "no manual response for command" error).

I've tried:
ls
cd
hello
help
olympiad
agonothetai
noriko
ariadne
wisdom
courage
storytelling

anyone else find anything?

New command line that works!

I typed in TROVULARINGONPERDITAN in the command line stuff and got this:

Quote:
Bonvolu kontroli la agonothetai

Esperanto for, "Please verify the agonothetai."

If you type in FINDTHELOSTRING it says in English
Quote:
Please authenticate the agonothetai.

Also, if you type in AGONOTHETAI you get the same as when you type in 5 of the traits Eli Hunt listed:
Quote:
Please authenticate agonothetai.
ID required: agonocode and biostats

However, if you type in DIKAIOSUNE696 (by process of elimination, Ariadne's trait--she hasn't confirmed this to my knowledge) you get this:
Quote:
insufficient parameters, needed 1

However, if you add ARIADNE to the end, making DIKAIOSUNE696 ARIADNE, it returns the same as the other traits, plus "ARIADNE" one line before the other message.
Quote:
ARIADNE
Please authenticate agonothetai.
ID required: agonocode and biostats

I tried the same thing using THUMOS696 MARKUS and interestingly it returned:
Quote:
too many parameters, max 0 allowed

[SPEC]So based on this, I would say when you go to enter in Ariadne's stats, you HAVE to enter DIKAIOSUNE696 ARIADNE but CANNOT enter THUMOS696 MARKUS when you go to enter his stats. Thus I think "parameters" is referring to their names.

Do you guys think this "secret" site is the "House of Solomon" Hunt referred to?[/SPEC]

I just tried SOPHROSUNE696 NORIKO and I got the same result as with Ariadne.
However, if you just type SOPHROSUNE696, it doesn't tell you that you have insufficient parameters.
I wonder if Eli Hunt doesn't think markus is one of the six for some reason?

[edit]
actually, i think there's just a glitch, because it spits back out anything that you include after SOPHROSUNE696 AND DIKAIOSUNE696. I just tried typing "SOPHROSUNE696 11" and it said:
11
Incomplete agonothetai ID... (blah blah blah error)

another working command
and this one is GOOD!

I just typed in "codex" (remembering Monica's video) and bingo!

Quote:
Currently transmitting omphalos navigation sites...
Green = active navigation site.
Red = pending navigation site.
Enter active navigation site for codex location.

Edit: (avoiding double posting)
The command CODEX returns an error (too many parameters, max 0 allowed) whenever you type anything after CODEX, so I'm not sure how you can "enter active navigation site for codex location".

I think the strength# means their ****696 name

For Markus it would be thumos696/right ring finger length in cm/resting heart rate

we need all of our olympians to give us their RRF length and RHR

Ditto!

But one thing: I've tried hypothetical values like
Sophrosune696/5/60, so the command line doesn't accept "slash".

And: if I write it without slash like
Sophrosune696 NORIKO 5 60
it accepts it, but still not complete...

You have to do it like:

sophrosune696 5/60

The authentication is expecting a single parameter.

Oh, and i typed in trovu(find in esperanto) and it spits back "bonvolu kontroli la agonothetai" which means "Be so kind as to supervise the agonothetai"

Any thoughts?

One online Esperanto-English dictionary I used (the first hit when you google "Esperanto-English dictionary" defined "kontroli" as "verify," which works with "authenticate." I think their Esperanto is fine, although most Esperanto users I know (not that I know too many) would have made an attempt to clarify that "agonothetai" was being used accusatively & that it is a noun; e.g., done something like "agonothetai-on."

It seems the side is not 100% german keyboard layout, if you use the shift+numbers you get the english layout (for e.g shift+2 is @, not " as it should be) but then again, some other strange signs appear over the ß and the ´ but the üöä are right..... so actually I guess there is no / for german keyboard users...

ok, what am I doing wrong?

I open the URL http://164.109.150.213/index.html and I can't see any kind of command line...
I would really love do to some "hacking" on this, but without the chance to enter someting, this might become a little difficult Wink
