Aren't there any mods around here who, say, have an opinion on the matter?

Er, yeah, I gave my opinion at the top of this page Wink Not that I claim to speak for all the mods, it's just what I think - I get very confused when there are discussions about 4 different emails all in different languages, all mixed up with spec and general discussion about things.

I personally would prefer it if things were broken down a bit into separate threads where appropriate, but it's up to everyone who's playing to find the best solution. The mods aren't going to come over all dictatorial and tell people "Thou shalt not post that here" (or at least, I hope not!)

Just to backup what myf said, it is up to the players to organise the structure themselves, I think the only real time the mods are likely to step in is if there is either conflict between the players, or major duplication of information.

But I'd also agree with myf, separate threads would be best, for timeline, getting up to date, etc. the wiki should be used, I know it is a couple of days out of date but that is due to how quickly this has moved, not that it isn't being updated.

Back to topic guys, today's March 11th, the secret comes out today! Eli said this podcast wouldn't come out in the regular place, so we should start looking for it, no?

I'm looking for that site: http://dotsub.com/home/user/index.php?target=5916

But perhaps we have to look for "ehunt" user on another video hostings.

Not a mod.

But I agree with Trustiva, at least for now. The game is still very fluid, with random email exchanges with a lot of characters that contribute little to the overall story and now several places to post info. Starting separate threads for all that is fine, but it doesn't capture where the game/story is going. I think having a chronological thread running behind it all still makes sense, at least until the form of the game becomes clearer. I also learned this from prior games.

That said, now that the full sites are live, and we are out of the pre-game phase (I think) perhaps a new main thread could be started. Or not. My 2 cents.

Many many pages back, I posted that this running blindfolded reminded me of a pretty intense spanish movie called Intacto (it's about a group of peopl being tested about thier luck ). I found a clip on youtube, take a look:

Pretty cool, huh?

That's a good compromise. A new clear thread (now that the characters are there and the meta site as well) could be a good idea.

Maybe I'm really out of date here, because I haven't read most of the former posts, but have people been to this site yet?

Hello Elizabeth!

Yes, it has been found. You can move from this trailhead thread into the Lost Ring forum here. There are threads about all of Eli's podcasts, including this one about the confession video.

796 Sindhind Way

(This was a post about a letter containing the key phrase, "HOW A GREAT DAILY ORGAN IS TURNED OUT". As a rabbit hole recipient, and without other explanation, I'd thought it may be related to FTLR, but I no longer believe this to be true. Thanks!)

I think your letter would be better posted about here

Whoo! SF0! We met at the last ARGFest.

But yeah, not sure I see a connection with the money orders. I vote other friends trying to lure you into something else when you could be playing THIS game!

Hi, I am new to ARGs and FTLR, so I have been hesitant to muddy the waters with my thoughts and discoveries. Following the revelation of a new package by sfzerosean, I think I need to throw my two cents in. On Eli Hunt's website, under the FAQ's, he mentions an important artifact that has been uncovered but not fully understood yet. So I googled artifacts that have been discovered in the last century and uncovered the Antikythera Mechanism. It is believed to be an orrery or astronomical clock. It is housed at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens but one of the core research groups is the University of Cardiff, UK. The mechanism consists of rings, gears and dials. On one of the front rings are the zodiac symbols and 360 marks. (degrees?)
There are also markings and inscriptions designation solar and lunar movements and maybe eclipses. I am not doing a very good job of describing this and don't know if this is part of our mystery, but maybe it will help. Check out more about the Antikythera mechanism at http://www.antikythera-mechanism.gr/project/general/the-project.htm

What made me post this is the reference to Sindhind. Googling it resulted in....Al-Khwārizmī's Zīj al-sindhind (Arabic: زيج "astronomical tables of Sind and Hind") is a work consisting of approximately 37 chapters on calendrical and ...

I think you might be onto something, shejake. It's from ancient Greece, it's got rings, connections to astronomy (Omphalos code, anyone?) and the University of CARDIFF (Eli Hunt is in Cardiff!).

Stuff to ponder and keep in mind, definitely.

Welcome to the site. FtLR is my first ARG too. Smile

Society of the Ancients connection?! Shocked Silly
heh, the antikythera mechanism showed its face on the SOTA website for the Iris / Halo 3 ARG (also run by AKQA Razz)

but hey, it's possible it could be connected here (the device that is, not Iris)
