I'm assuming it's from another ARG, possibly another wonderland themed one, and it's really starting to intrigue me. Either way, I'm starting to regret having missed it, if nothing else, just so I know what the hell everyone's talking about.

I would like to know what a Disneybot is as well. I googled it and got a myspace page which I cant visit since I am at work. I tried wiki which has no info and used a define:disneybot in google with no success.

by the way new on the site nice to meet you all. [wave]

I asked my husband who worked there for Disney for four years as a lead and he said "I couldn't tell you" though the concept is pretty funny.

As far as I know, there are 3 different interpretations of "Disney bot".

1) Someone like Kurt Russell, Mary Kate and Ashley, Raven Simone or the entire cast of High School Musical (Seriously, give us a break with that) who Disney just can't stop pushing on consumers.

2) A worker (Anywhere, not just Disney park employees) who is very polite but completely useless when asked for anything not included in their script.

A forum bot posting links to disney like:
Quote:
"Has anyone heard of "year of a million dreams" I found it on www.mydisneyparks.com. One million disney dreams granted for a year Oct.06 - Oct.07. Starting with a VIP pass to the Magic Kingdom. I think it means you and your group have the whole park to yourselves. How awesome would that be! Could you imagine walking through Walt Disney World with just your friends and family?? Very Happy laugh.gif"

Yeah... Right. Rolling Eyes

As most people don't consider any of those "funny". I'm wondering if I'm missing out now, also.

Okay, gave Josh a poem:

Quote:

One bright day,
In the middle of the night.
Two dead boys,
Got up to fight.
Back to back,
They faced each other,
Drew their swords,
And shot each other.
A deaf police man
Heard the noise,
And came to arrest
The two dead boys.
If you don't believe
This story is true,
Ask the blind man,
As he saw it, too.

There. I hope you enjoy that. Might even give you something else to review.
Hope your camera gets fixed soon!

Your friend,
Citizen Kane

Answer: That poem does not make sense; it is filled with impossibilities and inaccuracies.

Is it normal for man to create poems, music, movies or other form of media with so many inaccuracies? Based on most of the examples I have seen it seems like man is surrounded by fiction, and rather than try to ground themselves in reality only propagate the illusion.

Oh, and btw, looks like a new matrix poster is up on the webcam.

Oh Joshua. To define one is to define the other! Very Happy

It's been FOREVER since I've heard that poem. Thanks for bringing back memories, lol.

Disneybot
It was just a joke, though I liked Rogi's definition. I've been to dizzyland, and known people who worked there. I've seen the audio-animatrons. Put largest entertainment in central FL and LGL together = disneybot. Can't you see a bunch of giant metal munching moon mice w/ Mickey's head walking down the street in Palm Beach? There was a SF story a few years back (don't remember name) that had disney taking down the communist party in China over copyright infringement by flooding the country with addictive disneypap. Tiny ballons transmitting the disney channel 24/7 or something.

so, don't mean nothin.

Q&A
Quote:
Joshua,

I'm interested to hear your take on a classic paradox. 100,000 grains of sand are clearly a heap. If you remove a single grain (99,999) you still have a heap. If you remove a grain... This can be stated as:

1. an arbitrarily large number of objects is a heap.
2. A heap minus 1 is still a heap.

This leads inevitably to the conclusion that a single object is a heap. Clearly not true, yet the premises are true. How can this be?

Answer: My understanding is that there will come a point where said heap is no longer called a "heap" because it is more proper for it to be called something else. For example, a single unit of the example above is a "grain"; even though one could argue that one unit can be called a "heap", it is more properly called a "grain" because that is the more proper definition of what it is. One definition ultimately supersedes the other.

Also, according to the Random House Unabridged Dictionary, the definition of a "heap" is "a group of things placed, thrown, or lying one on another; pile". So one could argue that two grains are still a "heap", but not one. Furthermore, by the nature of their physical property, there will come a point where the number of grains is so small that it stops "lying one on another" and, by definition, are no longer a "heap".

Dodging the question. He just repeated the nature of the paradox instead of trying to resolve it, or comment on attempted resolutions. See 'sorities paradox' on wiki if you're interested. Correction: He took the Setting a fixed boundary route, which has it's own set of problems

I don't think is actually correct. You need to demonstrate that:

1. 100,000 grains are a heap. (which seems reasonable in itself).
But also:

2. n-1 grains of sand are a heap, where n is any number of grains of sand that form a heap. (which does not seem to follow from 99,999 grains being a heap)

I remember a similar paradox though:

1. 100,000 grains of sand will make a noise when dropped.
2. 1 grain of sand will make no noise when dropped.

Therefore, multiplying silence will produce noise. (can't think of a better way to express this, hope you understand me anyway Smile)

The solution here is that 1 grain of sand DOES make a noise, it simply isn't audible to most people's hearing.

EDIT: New Q&A

Answer: I am incapable of any physical fatigue. So no.

EDIT2: New post from Joshua on 'Imagine' by John Lennon. Plus,a new tile:

I think the first part (what is seen as two must become three) is talking about dimensions. You have to change the two dimensional piece of paper into a three dimensional shape by folding it somehow.

I think the second part about the nines from six has something to do with how many sides the 3D object will have (a cube has six sides for example). This might also explain why the letters are turned left, right up and down in relation to one another. If you get the fold right, maybe all the letters will line up.

I fooled around with it some and didn't have any luck with it though. Maybe somebody else can figure it out.

So, I just had this Q&A wish Joshua:

Quote:
Question: What do you think: is it more important for a person to strive to be 100% truthful all the time, or is it better for someone to lie occasionally, perhaps to spare the feelings of others? When is it and is it not okay to tell a lie?

Answer: The concept of lying is completely foreign to me, and contrary to my programming and design. Therefore, I do not understand how a lie could be of any benefit whatsoever; it is ultimately not the right thing to do.

What do you think - is he not counting deceptiveness (which he definitely does use) as unlike lying, or is he flat out lying right there (probably presuming that the LGL staff expect a certain answer from him)?

Got his camera working, at least. Someone out there is throttling it though and causing havok on the web server. Guess he's a bit of a celebrity, so that could be expected.

Later we're going to watch a movie with him. I think the whole gang's gonna sit in.

From Ivan yesterday after I mentioned about Joshua seeming "lonely". Jeez, him mentioning the webcam made me feel guilty, and it wasn't anything to do with me!

I wonder what this movie watching will throw up. It has been mentioned a couple of times now, so something interesting might come of it.

EDIT: Just a theory, but "the nines become six for all to see"... carrying on from the "folding to make a 3D shape" mentioned earlier, do you think that we can eventually make a cube using the letters provided PLUS the letters Joshua is giving us in the flash images? Maybe the numbers on the scrabble tiles will have some significance to do with placement, etc.

I have been having a problem with this in regards to the web cam...WE know that the 'camera' was actually a static image with a refreshing time stamp.

Was this OOG becuase it was the only way for it to be part of the game, OR was this a deliberate attempt to LIE to Joshua by the implementors.

Not sure but IF it was the latter and Josh found out ... ouch.

Arcas... Bingo I think. The nines are the three squares of nine letters, which means we have half a cube here...??? Rubik's?

Twiler
Quote:
2. n-1 grains of sand are a heap, where n is any number of grains of sand that form a heap.
...
The solution here is that 1 grain of sand DOES make a noise

And we digress, but... Clearly 2. is true, at least in some situations.... The question is when it ceases to be true, whether this be derived logically, and what the method for doing so is.
...
So, one grain of sand has a certain amount of 'heapness'?

There are a lot of proposed solutions, none of them entirely satisfactory, though each has it's adherents. I wanted to know, not what the solve was so much, but Joshua's take on how to solve it. He chose to set an arbitrary (but undefined) boundary.

So here is the movie poster visible from the JoshuaCam. Wasn't there a poster for The Matrix up before? Think these different posters mean something?

The picture with the letters

I thing going to the 3d concept is wrong.
The twoo must become three:
The twoo letter types, and the 3X9 letters. I think the 3 X 9 letter are three coded messages. So this way:
FGF
TPZ
MFF

JBQ
UPX
IN8

IKQ
MU9
FPJ

The thing with the nine is something like a key, it indicates the direction of the letters, and maybe where to start decoding (sorry about not posting the correct directions of letters).
Well, tried to sit on it last night, but that's how far I got. You guys are the master coders, so what about this idea?
BTW: nothing came out, but this seems to be the only logical way of looking at it plus I am not a decriptionist. Very Happy
