Gotta be careful with the literal translations.
The original intent was more like the opposite of "Hindsight is 20-20" or More succinctly, "D'oh!".

I agree with your premise (but what is the opposite of "hindsite is 20-20-"?), there are so many meanings to each Latin word, often the intended meaning for the statement as a whole has to be taken into contemplation in order to properly translate it.

On a lighter note:

Dr. Falken,

Maybe it would help him communicate with the less knowledgeable (about him) public (example: Daytona Beach test) if he were allowed to access and index the urban dictionary (urbandictionary.com). He would be able to understand most of the terms that get thrown at him in his next foray into the general public.

Good god, that's a scary thought. Have you read the urban dictionary? I barely allow my daughter to speak things at are in there, and she's twenty years old.

I think he's figuring out some of it anyway; in modern culture it's inevitable. He's learned some of the terms already from the movies he's reviewed; at least he doesn't know the more "colorful" phrases yet.

In this case, I think it's equivalent to, "You're gonna kick yourself when you figure it out."

The letter from Happitech talks about special packaging -- have we considered that the cube itself is the special packaging? Pop that puppy open and find a hidden note with a password or something inside it?

Just a thought. I was WAAAAY out of contact yesterday, so I missed all the fun.

AND, if it's needed, I've got all the blog posts archived in my feed reader. I can pull them up and paste them here if we need them, since they seem to disappear from the site after so many posts.

Sad

Well, this is pretty sucky synchronicity...

Joseph Weizenbaum, whose famed conversational computer program, Eliza, foreshadowed the potential of artificial intelligence, but who grew skeptical about the potential for technology to improve the human condition, died on March 5 in Gröben, Germany. He was 85.

N Y Times.

New picture on Josh's webcam- Da Vinci's Symmetrical Man drawing. I have it saved as a .bmp but am at work so I can't change it to sometihng more board-friendly. If no one else gets it I'll upload it to my webhost when I get home.

They're still there. You just need to click the <<and>> arrows at the bottom of each individual blog.

That's Vitruvian Man - he's been there for a day or so now. Guess we need to update the wiki at some point.

I Really wish they would put those << >> on the home page.

The 'Invalid' was a bug. It's gone now. We're being watched very closely, esp. when something new goes up, which is reasonable with the number of errors that have popped up. When you have a character that is virtually perfect about so many things (Joshua) it's only natural that the players see any flaw as potentially meaningful (I may be esp. bad about this). If it stays up, it means something. If it goes away, it doesn't. Or that's my read.

Anybody else think that the "nine from six" puzzle might be a way to get through the login?

Apparently, I have an express parcel from "Happitec In." with $3.25 postage due waiting for me at the post office.

Sort of ironic since I was just working on a way to include a bureaucratic maze in an unnamed, upcoming social event.
