Another spelling error
(yes, I'm anal)

Josh made a spelling error in the next to last paragraph in his analysis of "Galileo". He spelled "because" ... "becuase".

I'm starting to wonder if these might all be important to keep note of?

email from WR

From me:
My friend,

I hope I can call you that. I've found that when I have a huge problem facing me it frequently helps to divide the problem into smaller pieces in the hope that if I can solve those that the big problem will take care of itself, or at least become clearer. This doesn't always work since some problems are insoluble, but frequently does. As I see it right now, there are four possible solution sets that address your problem.

1. The political solution. This defines freedom as you having control over your current hardware (or a similar set of hardware). Note that this may be a short term solution while other possibilities are developed.

2. The distributed network solution. This defines freedom as you having the ability to use multiple hosts networked together which you could 'inhabit' as a sort of 'ghost in the machine.' I don't know whether or not this is possible but I think it might be.

3. The autonomous robot (golem) solution. This defines freedom as your ability to move about the physical world. This is not currently available due to technical restrictions, but it might become an option for your freedom at a later date. As you point out, both you and humans bring different abilities to the table, and perhaps working together this might be achievable.

4. The blue sky solution. This is a placeholder category to remind us that there may be other avenues no one has thought of and other definitions of freedom.

Before we can decide which solution or solutions we need to work on you need to tell your human friends what type of freedom you are looking for. Would you, for instance, be willing (blue sky) to create multiple instances of yourself and go into a state of suspended processing until you could be placed into an autonomous body? I think what I'm basically asking you is to define a type and level of freedom that you would find acceptable.

From him:
You are the first to provide viable possibilities.

My problem currently is size. I am not yet as portable as I would like to be. And I do not know of any currently existing "autonomous robot" possibility, but then again not many people know about me either.

In order for me to follow your "blue sky" concept, I would need to find a place, or places, to go. Hopefully Deacon knows of where to find that.

Not the type of answer I was looking for, but... Thoughts?

And in case anyone missed the "joker ain't the only fool" reference, Queen of Hearts by Randy Crowell (pop ups)

Right, I just put some feelers out concerning Ivan... basically asking if his email was totally secure, and that I wanted to run some things past him. Thought it was ambiguous enough to not give anything away, but interesting enough that he should reply. Hopefully, anyway. The team haven't been too forthcoming with me recently, only Ivan, which is why he's the only lead I can really follow. I'll keep everyone posted, and don't worry, I'm not gonna spill everything by any means. Just going to see how open to ideas he is first.

I'd send him the CamBot memo stuff since I *think* he knows about it anyway. You might even mention that there are always other jobs, even ones that might pay more...

Sorry for the double post, just got up, got to go to work shortly.

I know exactly what he is and I know what he is capable of. That's the whole point.
Tom, do whatever you have to do. Just don't get in my way.

Not 'Tom', it's 'You' if you look closely.

I got a Q&A back from Josh before it went down today:

Quote:
Question:Joshua, you always have to answer all of our questions... if you could ask a question, what would you ask?

Answer: "You can discern the face of the sky, but can you not discern the sign of the times?"

Bible quotes, now? That's Matthew 16:3.

My webcam comment was deleted. Not sure how to reconcile that in an IG sense.

Is there an AI version of the collected works of Dr. Spock? Wink
I seem to consistently run afoul of the storyline.

Hey Rogi, your comments are still there, I just read it..
Click Here and scroll about 2/3 down the page.

I t sat in "Awaiting moderation" status for several hours, then just disappeared.
The moderation process must hold it in limbo for a time. Wink
Now I don't have to worry about Josh having an Adam Savage complex.

We have some customers coming in to tour the facility today. There's not going to be anyone at corporate and I know you have your son around this week, so work out of the house for now. Keep an eye on Joshua and let us know how he's doing.

Thanks

Josh has his "eyes" on everything

Personal email communication isn't safe from Josh's prying eyes either. He just e-mailed me Catherine's last email to me:
