I absolutely know what you mean. My eyes are killing me - and it doesn't help that these dots seem to be choosing who they appear to, because right now, I don't see any yellow dots - just a single Germany (?) green dot and the Boise (?) red dot.

I wonder what 'pending artifact confirmation' actually means. Maybe whoever's leaving us clues hasn't actually gotten the clues in place yet. That'd be my guess. Once it's in place, I think the dot will turn green. Sort of wish they'd hurry up lol. I'm so impatient.

(ps. Kinda bummed that there are no Australian travellers in either the 1918 or 2008 bunch. We're a small nation, just 21mil people but we ARE an entire continent and we have hosted two separate Olympics. Billions of hiding places down here. Imagine a huge labyrinth in the desert, or sneakily formed from the Great Barrier Reef - how cool would that be?).

EDIT:

I just refreshed the map. I'm not seeing the Boise (?) red dot anymore, but I am seeing a definite yellow dot at Stephenville, NF. If I refresh again... (isn't this just HOURS of fun?)...

...that green dot in Germany is REALLY persistent, and I'm also seeing the Chinese one...

...only Stephenville this time...

...two at Stephenville? What? There's two this time around Stephenville. I thought the Stephenville pair was at Austin, TX. Explain? (And can anyone see a pattern, or do we really think the dots are random?) Do I have the right Stephenville? Help![/i]

Funny you should mention that, I'm actually seeing the Stephenville yellow dot for the very first time now (I just refreshed). Still seeing the red dot in NW North America, but nothing else. Sad

All right. No matter how many times I refresh - four and counting - the page insists on showing me two yellows at Stephenville. I have the Boise red back, though, and a couple of refreshes ago, I had the Lunglei green, which got me thinking:

Why is Boise red, and Lunglei green, and yet both are artifact pending?

Maybe I'm thinking too much.

You're not the only one. I thought a green dot should give us an Omphalos bearing by now, and Lunglei still isn't returning anything when I type that in the interface. Confused

 Definite new dot.

Hai guyz.

Double dot.

Not kidding.

At Boise (or NW Nth America, anyway).

Two red dots, so close together it's impossible to get a proper screenshot of their proper location BUT I managed to get a shot of the second one flying in.

PS. It's not Olympia or Helena. I tried those. Razz
PPS. Sorry it's such a big shot. I'm working with MSPaint, here.

EDIT:
*jumps up and down* Hello? I think this is important! Pay attention to me! ... I mean, *cough*, the screenshot. Double dot!

We believe you, we believe you! Now someone will have to figure out what it means - another city? A map glitch? It's on the list of things to test...

I'm not sure if the "2 dots" mean anything,

I saw this sensation a few times as well, when the dots appear to fly in, like the white dots do to. The globe doesn't get fuller of dots, so it appears to me as a graphical effect.

And this happens do coloured dots as well from time to time, they fly in and go to the place they are located, so they appear for the time of the inflying twice.

(I saw it with red and green dots happening)

And theese are just my 2 cents, I certainly can be wrong

And - great job everybody, after picking up the game again after the weekend, I must say, I really missed a lot Smile

Well done all of you

I agree with you Mirkomick.

Unfortunately I think too it's a map glitch. There have been multiple points for a number of the omphalos locations, I've seen 3 dots close together in the Dongying area, two in the Stephenville area and two in the Germany spot...

But it doesn't make sense to have more than one omphalos in one spot - and I tell you right now we can be fairly certain there isn't another one in Germany. After having seen a second one in Stephenville, I went searching and entered a whole bunch more names, but now I've seen that second dot appear yellow, like the one for Stephenville - I'm guessing for some reason there are multiple possible dots for each omphalos location - which they didn't manage to get right on top of each other...

And with that I'm ending another late night... Smile

I'm sorry, aliendial, everyone; lol, I'm very impatient, esp. when I get excited - and this is very exciting! Talking to all of you lovely new people, puzzles, the internet - all of my favourite things!

It could be a map glitch, yeah. But - I don't know. There's so much we don't know about this map yet. This may be something that needs to be shelved for when we know more about how it all works.

I'm going to hang around and see if that guy in the other thread actually goes down to the bakery and retrieves the clue! He - I think it's a he - said he'd be about an hour; half an hour to go, if he's right!

@ double-dot boise image: oy vey. first LOLcats, now goatse. We're practically traipsing through internet memes here.

Is it possible that there's a dot for each Start / End position?
(ie for Stephensville, Stephensville/Cardiff is one dot, Stephensville/Boise is the other dot)? Dots would then represent "connections" rather than Omphaloi in particular.

yeah, that seems like a likely explanation. I'll vouch for it

Yep, I agree too - that makes total sense. And suggests there will be another two end positions for Dongying, and at least another one for our Germanic dot...

Once the omphaluter finally updates, that is... Smile

EDIT: Make that at another two end positions for Germany - just spotted another cluster of 3...

Updates

Sorry for the near double post, but seems no-body put it here, the secret site has updated, the Austin code has changed to recovered, same with the Shanghai, both artifacts are available from araidne's blog, plus Eli gave some notes there. Also BTW, Dongying reads pending below the Shanghai code

I think that's new! OMG

Too exited to wait for my confirmation mail. lol

But hello to ya all first. Very Happy My first ARG and damn it's a good one!

My boyfriend just wrote me a textmessage from his cell phone, telling me he discovered a new command for our secret site.

The command is: RUN GRAPH

And that's what you'll get when you enter it:

http://blog.trimagination.de/wp-content/uploads/image/graph.png

It's too big to post it as an image, sorry.

I don't think that this was found before but if it was found feel free to trout me. lol
My boyfriend was messing around with Schroedingers equation we found some time ago.
When you get the graph on your screen you can find a slider at the bottom right to slight through the year dates.

Oh btw we are both from Germany, speaking english and german. So please excuse my typos, grammar and other mistakes I made. Too exited..I tell you. lol

He blogged it on his blog: http://blog.trimagination.de/

It's only available in german for the moment but he will translate it later when he gets home.

Please tell me we found something new. Very Happy

*Aerith*

[EDIT] Hopefully it's of some importance.
