ariadnelost: i like it! i'll suggest it to kai.

Sigh. Hard to communicate sarcasm in im...

I think we only need extra questions for DIKAIOSUNE, MYTHOPOEIA, and THUMOS, though?

So maybe:

I am a lion.
I am a hummingbird.
I am the sun.

(Or whichever pictures we decide match up with whichever 3 traits we need extra questions for ...)

Instead of leaving something out - what if each set of two corresponds to a single attribute:

I am like a fern, or the sun. = DIKAIOSUNE? (leadership - sun?)
I am like a wing, or an owl. = MYTHOPOEIA (vision - owl - and artistry)
I am like a lion, or a hummingbird. = THUMOS? (Courage and energy)

THUMOS (Markus):
You bring courage, energy and determination to our mission.
You will be one of our adventurers.

DIKAIOSUNE (Ariadne):
You bring leadership, direction, and focus to our mission.
You will be one of our pilots.

MYTHOPOEIA (Diego):
You bring optimism, vision, and artistry to our mission.
You will be one of our truth-finders.

(Yeah, Thumos works best, but I think we need to use all 6)

I had a little chat with Ariadne about the lost/missing question, if infact there is a missing one. Not much there, but thought I'd post it.

Quote:

me: Hi Ariadne, I was just talking to Mrjudkins, about the lost question. Do you think it might be hidden on that secret site that Mr. Hunt found?
I think I'll go see what I can find

3:33 PM Ariadne: ah... yes mr. hunt and his secrets
so you think he might know something about this too??

me: probably
he doesn't like to share much

3:34 PM Ariadne: i swear i will win him over one day if it kills me!!

me: hehe
I think he's okay, he just has to get used to all of us trying to help
we'll all win him over

For the drawings, I'd suggest:

fern: sophrosune (maybe some kind of healing herb)
sun: dikaiosune (obvious leadership)
wing:mythopoeia (a wing is the symbol of hermes, god of travels)
owl:sofia (owl was the animal for athena, right? and she was goddess of wisdom too)
lion: thumos (obviously)
bird: Chariton

But I don't know how to make 1 question with 6 drawings to get points for just 3 of the strengths

So why is there a picture of a fern on the Chapter 3 artifact as well?

Should somebody try to feel Ariadne out, by asking if she thinks the picture idea is on track? I think it's a little odd...For example, who's going to say they're like a fern or a wing?? What does that mean? The only pics that really make sense are the owl, the sun and the lion...

Maybe the original sets of question attributes could be reassigned so the only 3 missing are DIKAIOSUNE, SOFIA, and THUMOS? (Leadership, Wisdom and Courage)

I tried asking her whether she thought the pictures were the right track, but she hadn't replied by the time she went offline.

Just a note to everyone doing the personality test, if that's what it is -- there were a few fairly wild mistranslations in there. For many people, they may not change the end result much, but it could be important in some cases.

Compare the original and corrected translations.

Some changes are more cosmetic than anything, but notice that:
-- "I relate well with people" should actually say "I'm an excellent storyteller"
-- "I always try to see the big picture" should say "I can always see the big picture"
-- "Sofia makes givers of knowledge" should say "Sofia creates those who search for knowledge"

I think the word I'm looking for here is...

D'OH!

Thankfully I think the only one that really really changes the meaning significantly enough to change a person's mind about it is the storyteller one. And that does make it rather obvious.

That being said Esperanto-Tim, which attributes do you think go with which lines?

EDIT: Also, thank you for translating my request in the Google Group.

Given esperanto-tim's revised translation, I agree with you. So, with that and a few more tweaks based on suggestions from you and others:

Question No. 1
I like being the boss. (DIKAIOSUNE, leadership)
I believe that everyone's opinion is important. (SOPHROSUNE, open mind)
I'm an excellent story teller. (SOFIA, creativity)

Question No. 2
I approach a life like it's an adventure. (MYTHOPOEIA, optimism)
I like to please other people. (CHARITON, charm)
I am an original thinker. (SOFIA, cleverness)

Question No. 3
I hate to see somebody suffer, even my worst enemy. (CHARITON, humanity)
I believe that I have a strong goal in a life. (DIKAIOSUNE, direction)
I am always curious. (SOPHROSUNE, open mind)

Question No. 4
I am extremely loyal. (CHARITON, heart)
I like overcoming obstacles. (THUMOS, determination)
I like to clarify matters to others. (SOFIA, wisdom)

Question No. 5
I can create order out of chaos. (DIKAIOSUNE, focus)
I am optimistic about the future. (MYTHOPOEIA, optimism)
I am a very careful person. (SOPHROSUNE, self-control)

Question No. 6
I can empathize with others. (CHARITON, humanity)
I have a huge imagination. (MYTHOPOEIA, artistry)
I do not yield. (THUMOS, courage)

Question No. 7
I like to have all the facts. (SOFIA, wisdom)
I'm fascinated by other lands and cultures. (MYTHOPOEIA, vision)
I often help to retain harmony in my group. (SOPHROSUNE, balance)

Question No. 8
I am never too busy to help a friend. (CHARITON, heart)
People describe me as full of energy. (THUMOS, energy)
I can always see the big picture. (DIKAIOSUNE, direction)

Question No. 9
Others come to me for advice. (SOFIA, wisdom)
When I plan, I make sure that they succeed. (THUMOS, determination)
Even if I don't like someone, I deal with them fairly. (SOPHROSUNE, balance)

Question No. 10
I prefer action to a words. (THUMOS, energy)
I help others cooperate well. (SOPHROSUNE, balance)
I believe that everything happens for a reason. (MYTHOPOEIA, optimism)

Question No. 11
I make wise decisions. (SOFIA, wisdom)
I always see the beauty around me. (MYTHOPOEIA, vision)
I am never bored. (DIKAIOSUNE, focus)

Now there are five questions for Chariton, five for Dikaiosune, six for Mythopoeia, six for Sofia, six for Sophrosune, and five for Thumos. Still a pretty even split. And #2 and #6 are finally different! (For a while there #1 and #5 were the same, but I changed the story-teller from MYTHOPOEIA (artistry) to SOFIA (creativity), and it seems to work.)

To make it come out evenly, the missing twelfth question could be "Choose one of the following three graphics," with the hummingbird (CHARITON, charm), the sun (DIKAIOSUNE, leadership), or the lion (THUMOS, courage).

I feel pretty confident that the Story-teller one is Mythopoeia... I mean, isn't that what Mythopoeia actually means? The creation of Myths and story?

Ah, but might we make a distinction between the ability to invent an original story (MYTHOPOEIA, vision, artistry) and the ability to tell the story to others in a way most accessible to them (SOFIA, creativity, cleverness)?

(Yes, I'm just trying to rationalize things so that the assignments come out nicely. Please feel free to keep playing with it.)
