...But if Renata was one of the last group of six, why doesn't Jorge mention her in the 2nd chapter of the codex, when he tells us where each of the six woke up?

the beginning of chapter two?

Renata was 4 years ago, Jorge and his six were pre-1918...

Renata was part of the 'agonothetai695' for lack of a better label. He says (in 1918) it took 27 years to get their way, so likely they woke up 1891, which is 117 years ago - a year before the next summer olympics (multiples of four years) in 1892. So if we assume they were for the olympics 116 years ago, that's 29 olympic years, or 696-29 = 667th;

Which would make:
Ariadne et.al, 696th
Renata et.al, 695th
Jorge et.al, 667th

assuming my calculations are right =)

I ask myself why the PMs first gave us the link to the secret site and afterwards present us the puzzle how to reveal the IP address. I my opinion the puzzle is made very nice. So why have they not send us first the book, so that we had to find the secret site for ourself? Are we progressing to slow?
It would have been great when Eli would have post the book images instead the direct link, writing that he found a secret site, but that he first want too see if we "are fated to be allies..."

I am not very familiar with the ARG-genre, but I feel that this particular is approach is taking it somewhat to a new level. Instead of posting this code first, and give the game some progression, they give it to us afterwards, giving the game credibility. The game will always progress - either by a good storyline, or by players trying out all possibilities. By feeding us some code for dessert, so to speak, I get the feeling that there is so much more out there, that is not necessarily on the main path of the game. I like it! Very Happy

My guess (hope) is we'll need to use the code at some point later, to find the IP of another "secret site..." Otherwise, I think they would've done it the other way around, since they'd realize it would've been more fun that way.

I THINK - don't quote me on this - that Jorge et.at were actually part of the 666th Olympiad - the one that was referred to in Eli's papers, the ones he found in the statue? But I could be wrong. It just seems that that would make it nice and neat, instead of introducing yet another wave of travellers for the 666th (assuming that's important).

yeah I noticed it was a between the 666th and 667th, and contemplating including that point, but considering how ariadne et.al woke up pre-2008/696th olympics, I thought it much similar and closer to 667th for them.
But there may be some other reason that they'd be for the 666th, and I'd prefer that number because it's a little more 'poetic' (aside from the negative connotation Razz)

Unless there is something more to discover in this revelation than just an IP address. Surely the book itself, and maybe even the pages on which the notes are made, have significance (though they may have been the only pages in the book with enough space to make the notes, heh). I think we should also go over the text of his e-mail (the part that is common to all recipients) with a fine-toothed comb to see if it contains any additional clues.
