I got the e-mails as well. There's a whole list of e-mail addresses that they went to. Since I e-mailed redloyola about the PANAL system, I assumed that anyone else that e-mailed them also go the e-mails.

Another comment in the html code

Here's another comment in the HTML code.

<script>
<function>
</script>

I'm not a codemonkey but does the above code mean that the "Monetizer" window isn't functioning because it's in a comment tag? If you took out the comment tag and reloaded the page, could you get that window to open up?

www.redloyola.com

Monetizer was a fake ad on the page....it's since changed.

I've been thinking about the Capablanca clues:
Quote:
The pawn is dead
The queen is scheming
The opponent is winning
The predator lays dormant

-Capablanca

Roses are R
Violets are B
On Monday wear G
They might be watching you.

-Capablanca

Watching you on St Patricks day (today)....might be a video (youtube?) of a parade.....but no idea for what city. I watched a few parades from Savannah GA....one had a guy with a t-shirt with a giant green R on it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGEK8TNd7z0

I can find St Patricks Street, in St Marys GA. With Bishop St, near that. There is also places called Kingsland, Queens Court, Kings Bay and Martin Luther King Blvd. Plenty of Pawn shops on Kingsland-St Mary's highway. I know these are of no help, but thought I should mention it, so that others don't waste as much time as I did searching maps.

My other thought, since the clue was RBG (not RGB), would be Rook, Bishop, Guard from the second clue. Pawn, Queen from first clue. And possibly Black/White for opponent and predator? Nothing to go on really....speculation seems all we have at the moment....not really liking the pace of this so far. Maybe I saw Alex today.....but since I don't know what he looks like.....lmao

Alex is dead.

http://www.redloyola.com

Quote:
In Memory of Alex
It is our sad job to report the death of Alejandro Loyola. His body was found near Hwy. 16 in Georgia, US. It is believed that his car was hijacked when he stopped to help a stranded motoris. There was a struggle and he was shot while outside his vehicle. No suspects are currently reported for this heinous crime.

Alex was a caring provider for everyone in his life and he will be deeply missed by everyone who's life he touched. Our hearts and support goes out to his wife Stephanie and child Meren. We only pray that others who were lucky enough to have met this man can cherish the memories they have of him.

In recognition of his death, the Red Loyola offices will be closed until Wednesday, March 18th.

This brings Capablanca's first email to mind. The pieces could represent in-game characters with Alex being the pawn (which could mean that the situation is much bigger than Alex).

I was thinking that myself, especially considering http://www.alexloyola.com/pics/mysteryimage.jpg.

And as well, Stephanie's LiveJournal has been updated:

On her LiveJournal, Stephanie Loyola wrote:
They have found my husbands body. I still can't write this without tears coming to my ears. I can't believe my Alex is gone.

The police think that he stopped to help someone and got held up at gun point. Things went wrong and he was shot and died instantly. I have to goto the airport to pick up his body and arrange for a funeral. I don't know what I'm going to do now.

Life seems empty without you, Alex.

So for me the question becomes this: is the Queen to whom Capablanca refers Sofia Rivera? Or maybe someone else entirely? It sure doesn't seem to be Stephanie.

Of course, there's also the question of "why?" but that comes later.

On a side note, I'd just like to point out that referring to a queen also ties into the name of the server architecture developed by redloyola. The server architecture is called "PANAL;" the English translation of "PANAL" is "honeycomb."

I give this possibility a definite maybe. After reading Stephanie's journal, I started suspecting Sofia myself. So, I sent Robert an email asking about his relationship with Alex, Alex's anger, and how Sofia played into redLoyola. This was the response I got:
Robert Morgan wrote:
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. As you have probably already seen, Alex's body was found on Sunday. It's tragic what has happened here. I can only hope that Stephanie takes everything all right. God. This is just all so sudden. I mean, you expect the worst when you don't hear from someone for so long, but you are never prepared for the worst.

Alex and I were very close. We've know each other for years. It's been hard not seeing him around the office lately. Now I guess I never will.

It's weird you mention Alex's anger. Usually, he's a cool, mellow person. But over the past couple of months something was bothering him. I didn't know exactly what it was, but every time he talked to Sofia, he'd end up getting extremely upset. I don't know what was going on between them, but it wasn't good.

If you want to contact here directly, I have her work email. It's sofia.riveraSPLATriveracapital.com. Be careful talking to her, though. She can be a real bitch sometimes. She can't really give you any information now, though.

Robert

Does that last line seem odd to anyone else? Anyway, I quickly sent Sofia an email asking about Alex. Will post her reply if I get one.

In other news, another of my emails got responded to. I asked Code Monkey if he/she knew anything about the puzzle we've been working on, and here's what he/she said:
Code Monkey wrote:

A useless message from a repetitive bot.
But you should dig deeper, your missing a lot.

Useless message from a repetitive bot, eh? ...

the only repetitive bot I can think of right now is... the monetizer ad. But I can't see anything on the source code of the little window it opens :/

The autoresponder e-mail from support is also a repetitive bot, but I find nothing in the source for it, either.

The text, though:

Quote:
Thank you for contacting redloyola support. Your inquiry is valuable to us. We will be contacting you shortly regarding your request for support.

This is an automated reply. Please do not respond.

And the source:

</body>
</html>

Unless someone can make something out of this, I'm stumped.

EDIT: It appears that even using the "code" flag, the board edits the HTML. Don't know how to work around that one.

EDIT (again): Turned off HTML as per stori.lundi's post to see if that'll work...and it does!

Here's a list of all the banners that the Monetizer ad cycles through:

DiscoBall Emporium
Sushi Joy
Morning Rise News
Cruncher's - "We Love That You Love Chicken!!"
freshliving - "an online organic market"
Monetizer
Periwinkle & Associates, Doctors of Optometry - "Your vision matters."
Nailed Down Construction - "We mean business."
puppywash.com - "For your puppy washing needs."
Lou's Lead Mining - "China Loves us."
Box Surplus - "We All Need'em ... We Have'em"
World Wanderer - "an affordable touring company"

I doubt the ads are involved with cracking the code, but, ya never know.

Tears are coming out of her ears?

"Your missing a lot"? (Perhaps this one is just a typo.)

The Code

Hello folks, I'm brand new, found this yesterday and been reading through it. I'm not one for code cracking in the least but maybe I've found something worthy of consideration by those who do?

The long number from the blog -09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 - karmajay discovered on page 1 of this thread that it refers to the decryption of HD-DVDs. I googled it (original, eh) - this particular code was the source of some controversy:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AACS_encryption_key_controversy

In particular, apparently people spread it around everywhere to prevent it being taken down. There seemed to be a bit of a movement about it, featuring, a flag : "The RGB encoding of each of the five colors [of the flag] provides three bytes of the 09 F9 key, with the sixteenth byte "C0" appended in the lower right corner.[44]"

perhaps worthy of some investigation?

Let the record show that that tiny little add is 30K in size.

Opening it up in a binary viewer brings up all sorts of weird stuff. It was created in Adobe CS3 and contains what looks like XML. Opening it in CS3 proper doesn't give any further information, but I'm wondering is it normal for Photoshop to cram in all that data in to the JPEG?
