But hello to ya all first. Very Happy My first ARG and damn it's a good one!

My boyfriend just wrote me a textmessage from his cell phone, telling me he discovered a new command for our secret site.

The command is: RUN GRAPH

And that's what you'll get when you enter it:

Please tell me we found something new. Very Happy

*Aerith*

[EDIT] Hopefully it's of some importance.

nice find! if you use the zoom slider at the bottom, you can "grab" at the left side of the graph and slide a window across the graph. Not super useful, but there ya go.

Re: Short notice about the graph and the secret sites IP address

Hello folks,

I - i.e. the mysterious boyfriend of Aerith - just translated my simple posts on my blog to english for those of you who wondered what cryptic language I used before... Wink

If the blog shows up in german when you enter it, you can use the american flag on the right of the topics to get to the translated version.

However, there's one more thing - besides the graph thing - I wanted to point out: After thinking a while abut why the secret site is known only as an IP address and not some strange domain name, I felt like as if it had some special meaning.

Also, I once saw maps created by Chris Harrison that show the world of the internet with all the nodes. Those maps really look pretty similar to the image I retrieved from the secret site (if you have a close look). I don't know though if this is of any relevance, but it would be too much of a coincidance wouldn't it?

Regards,
T.

Hi Tronex,

welcome on board. I have had a look at your blog (I am also from germany). You write you have those images from the secret site. How did you found the images?

And if you are interested in the ip address, perhaps you should also have a look here (if you not already found it): http://olympics.wikibruce.com/The_secret/origin

Do you suppose the six colored lines correspond to our six athletes?
That was my guess...and the white line above corresponds to the synchronization of the athletes? (If you add the frequencies of all the lines, it comes reasonably close to the white line.)

I'm trying to think what this might all represent. Anything happen in 1815? (Looked it up, and found it was the end of the Napoleonic Wars and the War of 1812, and the first commercial cheese factory is founded in Switzerland. Very Happy

From a Physical Chem. perspective, I'm putting some thought into whether the various "Waveforms" Hunt found might be the branching and collapsing that're found in the multiworld theory of quantum mechanics, where each time a waveform branches, you generate 2 potential states, both of which are true at the same time--Hence, the multi-world theory. (Quantum Mechanics actually states there are multiple potential states all existing at the same time.)

maybe it's a graph of the amount of people involved in trying to find the lost ring or the lost sport. Cause see how high it is now in 2008. The lines could be the continents?

Thanks, but I still don't know how to get to the command prompt. All I see on the page is the globe and the flying dots; nowhere to type anything.

Just start typing. You may have to click somewhere on the screen first.

Edit: Ninja'd!

 Origin of the images

AUZ505 wrote:

Well. The truth is, I downloaded the shell.swf file which is the Shockwave Flash application behind the curtains. I used a tool that is freely available for looking inside that file and found the three images I posted on my blog: The equation and both the maps.

Looking at the map with the dots, it seems that it might be the base for the globe itself. Think of it as some kind of texture mapped to a sphere. Or vice versa: What if you took the globe with all the dots and flatten it to a 2D image. It can be safely assumed that the result would pretty much look like the map I posted on my blog.

However... that leads to another interesting question: What about the second map I found? The one with the crossing lines. What is its purpose? Since it is definitely part of the application, there is supposed to be some way to activate it.

I don't know yet how that corresponds to the images, but I found hints to the terms "MediatorMap" and "ObserverMap". Does that ring a bell.. ? Anyone.. ?

Edit: Forget about the Mediator/Observer stuff. That's a dead-end and totally not related to the game. Wink

I found those images the same way.

My assumption is that globe rotates along the lines of the grayscale map. (Or the camera moves along those lines around the globe)

By the way, did we ever figure out where the Stephenville dot is leading to? I'd try to figure it out myself, but I suck at geography.

Oh wait...that's an old one, isn't it?

I'm sorry; I'm all confused. I'm new to this.

Yes, we've worked out both Stephenville destinations - one led to Cardiff, Wales, and the other to Austin, Texas. Stephenville is now yellow as both of its sites have been discovered and plundered (for lack of a better term Razz).
