yeah, mostly because it doesn't say that this is a monster movie anywhere else on the packaging. Also, that's probably the least clear image of the monster that doesn't just show a hand or foot that they could find.

So let me get this straight:

This movie was concieved, made, and produced in America.
JJ Abrams states that this was supposed to be America's monster.

And the manga is only available in Japanese on a Japanese website, and the Steel Book DVD might only be sold overseas and no where else!

Why? Why not make everything equally available? I never got why there ever were different versions for different countries for any movie/videogame (other than actual language differences, and sometimes edits for a particular countries rating laws)

Yeah, same here. This DVD's gonna have every single nook of its cranny raped for every hidden feature that might be tucked away in its darkest recesses (sorry for the poetic imagery, but that's how I wax... lol).

It's kind of weird that the only descriptions they could find for it was "Frightening" and "A heart racing experience."
Somewhere, it should have "I saw it! It's a lion! It's huge!", just for shits and giggles.

Abrams doesn't have control over the marketing. Didn't he say he didn't have a say in the myspace pages, etc?

Do you think they're marketing out of the states because of the low exhange rate for the dollar? Would that effect DVD and other media sales?
