I don't speak German, but a German message about the Japanese makes me think it's related.
ETA: I could take a look at the library today for the same edition of the book. I have business at the library today anyway.

Cool Find on the picture. But does anyone get where this is pointing yet? This is the first Game I have been in that has this many Characters and Orginaztions involved this early on without at least SOME idea of what were are supposed to be trying to do.
I do think Spy vs Spy is a good possibility, but maybe we are to throw in with Ellie and just try to blow the whistle on the 2 groups. I dont know just spitballing here actually.

If you're there already, that would be cool. Thinking about it again, if it's a book code that uses Chapter Paragraph Word, then edition may not be as important.
As far as that email, not sure what to make of that. Toolground was never used before, but it doesn't mean it's not a possibility here. Proceed with caution...

Slightly different translation from google Language tools:
Widely reported thousand eight hundred and fifteen feet high, we must recognize that it has a secret
Clock for the Japanese Faust
EDITED: to correct Typo.

The CN Tower is in Downtown Toronto Canada. There is a Hard Rock Cafe near the base of it. I spent Christmas break of my Sophomore year of college drinking there.
ETA: There is a restaurant near the top of the tower called 360 that spins clockwise. Allowing a 360 degree veiw of the city. Could this be the "Secret Clock"?

For the record, I got the same email. GMail is not as forgiving with the Japanese characters.
Where is our resident Japanese speaker, anyway?
*EDIT*
Faust by Goethe? Mayhaps another book reference?

There is a literary magazine in Japanese named Faust. I don't know if its relevant though.

BTW: Toasty, I tried using that decoder thing and I don't know what the hell I'm doing. What are the settings supposed to be? Can you screenshot those?

When kosmopol comes around he'll be able to read the Japanese and the German. Something still doesn't feel right about this email, but as long as it's not too wild a goose chase there's no harm in researching it.

Nighthawk, it's been documented here:

EDIT: and I got gibberish from it.

spysect's writeup pretty much nails it.

Without proper instructions included with the program and no obvious labels for the parts, it's a bit hard to come up with the right nomenclature to explain it any better. One thing I've been doing is deleting the INI file the program generates when you close to ensure that I have a clean state to start with.
What tells me this code in the email isn't for use with the Fialka is that the others have come in a text file to make it easy to input to the program (simply open the file rather than cut-and-paste). The codes thus far are also in all caps with no spaces.
