A few questions for Larissa about Renata if anyone can send her an email in Portuguese...

1. What was Renata's primary language when they met? English? Portuguese?

2. Did she wear the necklace all the time or ONLY when she ran??

3. What was the location of they trip they took where Renata vanished?

Check. I've written her an email and also wrote on the forum. I also wrote if she knew the geographic locations Renata used to search about (as she mentioned in a blog post I think) and if she found the postcards Renata used to write on the back, as Monica's one.

What has always bothered me about Phidias statue is that Phidias is Greek, yet the statue is Minoan/Crete design. Which makes it hard to believe that a Greek had designed a Minoan artifact. Which suggests to me maybe we should be looking at the site of the most fabled labyrinth of all. The labyrinth of the Minotaur.

OMG somebody else who noticed!

I poked Eli about that but but got no answer.

Larissa replied on her forum to the questions I left there. Here's the translation of what she wrote:

Quote:
Hi Riquardo, how's everything? Sorry I was gone, but I was sick and couldn't do anything. My location is wrong, yes, I think Kai (or his group) got confused [in reference to my post saying her location was Portugal - it's in fact Sao Paulo, Brazil]. To be hones, I'm not very "smart" to all that technolog! rsrsrsrsr. But I'm trying... for the well of Renata, and now I believe that it's for the well being of all of us. Renata speaked portuguese. I never noticed any accent or anything like that. She used the necklace all the time, never took it off. But I must confess Renata, in the last months, spent a lot of time alone. I never was suspicious of anything, but now I understand I should've been more alert! I think she researched all kinds of places. I remember seing some books of brazillian geography, and others not out of ordinary. I never asked Eli if Renata was one of the people he met a few years back, also because Renata didn't have a passport, and she wouldn't be able to get out Brazil.

I didn't find the postcards she wrote, I'm searching my notebooks page by page to see if Renata wrote anything on them.

Don't worry, if I remember anything I will talk to you immediately.

Quick observations:
- Kai or his group? - what's going on there?
- Renata couldn't leave Brazil, so if she was one of the six in the previous Olympics, maybe Eli traveled to Brazil instead, i don't know... or maybe Kai arranged for some fake passports like for Ariadne?

Hi, Larissa friends.

There are still some untranslated Portuguese pages on the wiki. http://olympics.wikibruce.com/index.php?title=Category:Translation_Needed

Perhaps someone (riquardo? Smile) can help.

Nice job, riquardo. Not much to do for me, except deleting the "tanslation needed" tag.

Perhaps you can also have a look at this post: http://olympics.wikibruce.com/Larissa/080312-id1139
It seems that it could need a little bit polishing.

new Larissa Blog post

Basically a recap:

Quote:
O que tem acontecido até agora...
08.03.20

I feel that we're making excellent progress in the quest for finding out the secrets of the Lost Ring. But I think that I need to stop to breath and recapitulate everything we found out until now. In February when Ariadne, Markus, Diego, Noriko, Meihui, and Lucie woke up blindfolded and with amnesia in several labyrinths around the world [the punctuation and phrase structure doesn't seem right but I translated just as it is]. All of them have a tattoo on the arm that says "Trovu la Ringon Perditan" in Esperanto, that tattoo seems to be a reminder of their mission of finding the lost ring. Then, we found Eli Hunt's podcasts, a historian who has an extensive research on the ancient olympics and a supposed lost game. Eli refused to help us, but after being confronted by Ariadne in Cardiff he changed his mind and took us to a strange site that monitors geographic
locations that can lead us to more discoveries about the lost ring, that our friends call "omphaputer". With the help of the six allies some omphaloi were found, wich have taken us to to the localization of artifacts that are part of the "Lost Ring Codex". The first artifact, refered to as the first chapter, says there are 27 chapters in total, 5 of which have already been found. Now we need to find the rest of them so that all this makes sense. Did I forget something? Write me and if you rather talk/chat, make videos!!! It would be great to have the opportunity to konw you, I think I would feel more at ease/calm to know who I am (and will) be talking to so much till I/we find the secret of the Lost Ring and what happened to my friend Renata.

Sorry to double post but I also just saw that Larissa also replied in her forum to that user, Douglas, who said he found all the omphalos in google earth (we later found out he found a great tool that a player made). Anyway she replied this to him:

Quote:
Re: Omphaputer - Google Earth

Uau! Douglas

Larissa

So you found all the omphalos!! Incredible, so the localization of the rest of the chapters of the "lost ring codex" is pratically solved. I'm going to
send an email to Ariadne immediately. I don't know if that tool is being used, but it's worth checking.

Hugs,
Larissa

I hope that IG Ariadne doesn't get all excited about this!

Larissa's new video

Yikes, triple post! That's a first! Larissa has a new blog post with a new video (http://www.findthelostring.com/larissa/detail.do?postId=1218), but I'm posting this here as to not clutter the amount of threads in the forum (if you think there should be a new thread for this, please do it). Anyway, here's the english translation:

Quote:
Hello. As many of you already know, the secret website Eli showed us has given us clues to real geographical locations. With that clues, peolple all around the world have ben able to find hidden documents writeen in esperanto. Until now, people working with Ariadne and the others have found documents in Europe, in the United States, in Asia, and Australia.
These documents are part of something called "the lost ring codex" and we believe this codex is a guide with instructions in how to play the lost sport of Olympia, how to be a good agonothetai, or many other things about the finding of the lost ring.
The first document has a personality test, and that test is to show us our ancestral strength. There are six different strengths and everybody has at least one. Some of our friends have made an online version of the test and have put it in our community, in our language also, so that all of us can take it and find out how to best help this mission. If you make the test, tell me the result, and also, if you want to, make a video talking about the result, your ideas... and if you know anyone who wants to help, ask that person to also take the test. We have to organize. We have to know what kind of team the people who knows (/talks) portuguese are. We have to unite and we will find the lost ring.

Quadruple post (!) to let you guys know about a new blog entry by Larissa:

The first chapter of the "lost ring codex"
23/03 2008 04:14

I was examining the first document found by Ariadne in Cardiff, it's the first chapter of the "Lost Ring Codex". Redico translated it to portuguese, and I'm puting the originals here. Jorge and his companions failed. They seemed desperate to go back home... in the codex he/it mentions that "even if we leave now, our world will have a second chance". They talk as if they were leaving earth. Is it another code to get us confused?... I thought they were trying to help us. Isn't it the codex's function? They had 27 years, but it seems to me that we won't even have one. Time is running out!

[the codex pages from artifact 1 follow her post]

This confuses me. We know Aug. 24 is the "deadline" because of the trailhead packages. What indication have the TAs had that time may be running out?

I think what she means is that compared to the 27 years the others had, this mere six months tilll the 24th August deadline is very little time. Also, they might have a better perception of things still to be done (at this point we don't have a clear idea of what's ahead of us in this game), so they might think it's too much for not even a full year.

But the TAs don't know that the deadline is August 24th. That's what dreamerblue is getting at. The TAs haven't been told that. They probably think they've got 27 years or more, like Jorge and co, or maybe 4 years (?), like Renata. They can't be told they've got 'til August 24th, either, because the Trailhead is out-of-game.

I think what Larissa means is, you know, in general. Like, time ran out for Renata, so it's running out for these guys as well. Larissa's not given a timeframe, per se, she's just said 'time'.
