Has anyone called the voicemail today, to see if that has changed, BTW? Because it's odd we have this little (ok, big) tidbit that has not given us much more to work with except that the princess is intercepting these mails (already speculated) and that it's telling us it's an ally to dana (we knew this from the killer images Q&A) So it's cool and new, but not necessarily new info, except the literary references and song references... right? So we need to check the voicemail, and then get to work on the new references, in my humble opinion...

Diogenes has a blog entitled : Nectar .
Most likey just a coincedance seening as how it has nothing to do with the game ( at first glance as i wouldnt quite discredit it yet)

Should we get started on compiling a list of who emailed and posed these lines? Seems to be just a random compilation just enough to make a story out of but I don't see as of now what else we have to work with.

Some more SPEC

Additional SPEC:

As I've posted elsewhere, we've received a letter that is made up of text we sent, but that we did not write ourselves. In other words, we've taught whatever we're communicating with to send text that someone else wrote. I don't think it's a slam-dunk case by a longshot to say that this was 100% written and sent by "The Sleeping Princess".

Additionally, I have some wild speculation as to where our missing Chapter 3 went to - down the rabbit hole, of course.

http://www.gutenberg.net/dirs/etext91/lglass19.txt

Chapter III of Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll is subtitled "Looking-Glass Insects", and it details Alice's conversation with a Gnat (not a flea, as I had misremembered) about such interesting things as bees and butterflies.

Probably means nothing, but I just realized that along with a missing chapter III, chapter IV has no title.

As i've already tooted my own horn (Sorry, I'm just thrilled to be quoted),

The Lyrics to "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" were sent by me. It's referenced here:

Quote:
the "pious flea" and "sleeping princess" (?)

MARK but this flea, and mark in this

don't like it

I can't help it

a proper fool

a bad banana

unimaginable filth and stench; and disease

he can't write his name or read a book

And Here:
Quote:
You're as cuddly as the cat

You're as charming as the butterfly

Maybe we should get the headers off an email that was sent from dana to one of the people here on this board. And Spoof those headers in an email to Laddybee777SPLAThotmail.com making the SP think its dana .. Im not an expert at spoofing so i cant do this but i think it might be a good idea to try .. maybe with something simple at first like "its me dana im back" im not sure ..

whats that? .. there in the sky! .. its a bird! .. its a plane !.. its "super trout"

maybe nothing...going further with the Chapter III/TTLG meme

Reference to a Cat named "Dinah" (Dana?), where Alice wishes the cat were with her (as the Princess is wishing for Dana?)

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Lewis Carroll

CHAPTER III

A CAUCUS-RACE AND A LONG TALE

...
`I wish I had our Dinah here, I know I do!' said Alice aloud, addressing nobody in particular. `She'd soon fetch it back!'

`And who is Dinah, if I might venture to ask the question?' said the Lory.

Alice replied eagerly, for she was always ready to talk about her pet: `Dinah's our cat. And she's such a capital one for catching mice you can't think! And oh, I wish you could see her after the birds! Why, she'll eat a little bird as soon as look at it!'

References to Butterflies, and the theme of Transformation

Through the Looking Glass
by
Lewis Carroll

And then there's the Butterfly,' Alice went on, after she had taken a good look at the insect with its head on fire, and had thought to herself, `I wonder if that's the reason insects are so fond of flying into candles -- because they want to turn into Snap-dragon-flies!'

Edit: Duh. Above was just a search on the second link. Upon closer examination, it turns out I didn't even catch the entire reference about honey and bees (which turn out to be something quite different):

Quote:

Principal rivers -- there are none. Principal mountains -- I'm on the only one, but I don't think it's got any name. Principal towns -- why, what are those creatures, making honey down there? They can't be bees -- nobody ever saw bees a mile off, you know - - ' and for some time she stood silent, watching one of them that was bustling about among the flowers, poking its proboscis into them, `just as if it was a regular bee,' thought Alice.

However, this was anything but a regular bee: in fact it was an elephant -- as Alice soon found out, though the idea quite took her breath away at first. `And what enormous flowers they must be!' was her next idea. `Something like cottages with the roofs taken off, and stalks put to them -- and what quantities of honey they must make! I think I'll go down and -- no, I won't just yet...
