[ARTIFACT] Ch. 11 (Johannesburg, South Africa) Found from the Lunglei Omphalos
Code:
Navigate 47847 Athena degrees 18
Lunglei/Johannesburg yields
Quote:
Aukland Park
Boekehuis
Behind lecturn
Inside fireplace
G reen porcelain tiles
Cast iron cover, inside an envelope
I found it using Rogi's Omphalos calculator
Putting in 22.88 and 92.73 for Lunglei
47847 for Stadia, Athena, +18 for the angle.
I clicked Origin to make sure I had the right lat/long.
Then clicked Destination to take me to South Africa.
After several attempts on small S.A. cities, I tried Johannesburg, since that was probably the best place to hide an artifact.
edit : "reen" makes no sense. I've changed it to Green.

Ooh, I've always wanted to travel to Jo-berg. If we can't find a player there, I might just do it.

This picture confirms that it should indeed be Green porcelain tiles in the fireplace:

Mav in the findthelostring forums is going for this artifact now. Said it'd take about an hour, so keep your eyes peeled. !

Our new friend Mav at the findthelostring.com forums has collected the Johannesburg artifact! He's just provided the direct link to the pdf:
http://164.109.150.213/PRUVO/S33C/AH24/FEK8/G87T/IB76.PDF
Once again, the pruvo code didn't work in the Omphaputer, which he too found rather disconcerting...
But here we have it, Chapter 11 (not 9 as expected). A two-pager...
EDIT: Oh, and he's just confirmed that it's the same envelope again too...

Wow, check it out - a tree branching with yeses and nos on it. Methinks it may help us with Sofia's waveform problems, yes/no? (That was a pun. You may laugh now.)

Hello again, Mav!
The other great resource is the wiki page for the game:
http://olympics.wikibruce.com/Home
You'll find tonnes of info on there - and the Timeline/Story So Far is currently being updated to a readable summary story form.
Other than that, have a look around the forums, and see what the latest discussions have been about. If you have specific things you want to find out about, try using the wiki or forum search functions.
And if you jump on the internet relay chat channel - info for that here - there will oftentimes be other people online for you to chat with about the game.
Welcome!

Hooray Mav!!!!
there's a yes/ no's, but also a stop/go and up/ down. And these are written in English, and look like they are part of the illustration to start with.

my first impulse was 'this is a maze' but that may have been too obvious. it seems to be more subtle than that.
