This too was highlighted in the video:

and might be a place to look, right beneath the tower

That area is the are I suspect, as well. I've never been there, though, so I'm not sure what that is. It appears to be about 30 meters (~100 feet) across, with steps on the southeast side, and 5 planters or lanps or something on those steps. It looks like a fountain to me, actually. And it's about 100 meters (~325 feet) directly south of the CN Tower itself.

The video did mention "glass floor" or something like that, too, so maybe it will be necessary to go to the top of the tower and look through the floor? Or maybe that's just another clue indicating the tower itself.

Anyone familiar with that sarea know what that might be? Is there a fountain in that area?

Okay, small update. That is, in fact, a fountain.

It's called "Salmon Run" and it is outside the southeast enterance to Rogers Centre.

No, at this point I think it's definitely a "maybe"

Here are the clues pointing there, and I may be leaving a few off, as there has been some redundancy:

    * A map with Xes over several major North American cities, including Toronto, and Os over a few bodies of water.

    * An encoded email that included this: "collecting a group was easy leading them astray was easy but the internet is a cop out the real world is where we look now the game is a cover up."

    * In the same email, this: "Widely reported thousand eight hundred and fifteen feet high, we must recognize that it has a secret" - This is a reference to the CN tower

    * A YouTube video with satellite photos of the CN tower area with the top needle part of the tower highlighted in pink, then the Salmon Run fountain highlighted in pink. The description on the video says "task one: the token"

    * Another video from the same user, which says "... the token lies in the Big Smoke. when you acquire the token... " The Big Smoke is a nickname for Toronto.

Additional notes:

In the "collecting a group..." email, there was a German phrase which partially translated to the 1815 foot thing, and part translated to this: "Clock for the Japanese Faust" In addition to the other definitions given, according to Wikipedia, Faust is a Japanese literary magazine. Perhaps there is a newsstand nearby the Salmon Run fountain? And maybe that's where the token is to be collected? Maybe by asking for the Japanese Faust? Also, maybe this is badly translated into German in the first place, and it was supposed to be "Watch for the Japanese Faust," but I haven't found an online translator that will make that mistake.

There are anonymous emails in this game with the subjects "File Under Subway" and "Style Yonder Fanboy" -- Peculiarly similar, no? Both of these phrases have tens of thousands of anagrams, so good luck with that route. But I think there is something to the similarity here. Maybe enough to rule out either of them as being literally interpreted. But, there IS a subway nearby - not really close, but in the neighborhood, and that sounds like a good place to find a newsstand.

That's about all I can think of right now. So, I think it's a "maybe" that there's an actual token to be picked up. Not a "definite."

Is this game tied to anything major? or does it seem like a grassroots thing? I ask because it might help determine who to talk to... if it's big, CN tower itself might be involved, otherwise if it's a grassroots thing the drop might just be somewhere relatively public and the tower staff wouldn't know a thing about it... likewise if it's at the salmon run... if there's indeed a drop Razz

what was the part about the glass floor? seems odd they'd direct people to the lookout floor of the tower just to see the salmon run which is already hilited... it costs to go up the tower, so there's no point in going up there unless something's there.
seems there's still lots of questions needing tips...

Yeah, I think you know about as much as anybody at this point. There hasn't been any indication that I've seen that the game is connected to anything bigger.

I didn't know there was a cost to go up the CN Tower. I would guess that's not necessary then.

Seems like we don't have anyone right in Toronto to check this out without much of a hassle. On March 21, the PM gave us two weeks to find the token and said "failure is expected," so, maybe when no one finds the token by April 4, we can expect more information.

Might be a passable idea for you, Bruce, to send a message to the PM and ask for more details on what you're collecting? See what happens?

Even if there is a pickup in Toronto, we need a helluva lot more information. I mean, OK, so we know that there is a possibility of picking something up within... a square mile area? That's a needle in a haystack, especially when we don't know what a "token" looks like.
