[RING][WEBSITE] Labyrinth Training Events
on yahoo upcoming events

Found on ariadne's youtube page... http://upcoming.yahoo.com/group/4360/

About Labyrinth Training Events
This group is for hosting live training events for the Lost Sport -- the human labyrinth!

Please sign up to host a training event in your neighborhood.

Tell your friends they can learn the history of the human labyrinth by watching The Lost Sport of Olympia video:

http://www.thelostgames.com/1/podcast.do

Remember: You only need to get 10 players together to run a training labyrinth! (Of course, it will be more fun to train with 20, 50, 100, or more!)
Moderators: ariadnelost

It continues with the first event...
Date: Apr 05
Event: Test Labyrinth Event
Metro: London

Is there any indication of where in London it'll be, or at what time? I'm fairly close to London so I'm pretty tempted to go, but London's a big place!

If you join the yahoo "upcoming" group, you find out it is:

Saturday, April 5, 2008
2:00 PM

Hyde Park
London, England

It doesn't yet say where in Hyde Park, though.

This is not a real training event. It's just a test event.

It sounds to me as if Ariadne set up this event just to test the system. That said, I don't see any down side to going to Hyde Park at 2:00 p.m. on April 5, 2008, just to see what happens...

Oooooh, a trip to town! I might be able to go and have a look at what (if anything) is going on.

SPEC: Once we start handling these training events, we'll find a way to enter our own locations in the omphaputer. Then once we are able to start synchronizing for real, the OMPHSTRENGTH will start going up...

Which one of those strengths is supposed to be good at spacial reasoning? Be sure to get a player with that strength to come along for the training sessions!

I just put down a 3 circuit training labyrinth in my back yard because I have enough room for it and, though it might be worth practicing just the string part. Gah! I'm still dizzy from turning in circles trying to get it done! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2170/2374504780_308e0d534a_o.jpg

Nice one jasper. Smile
How did you find clews long enough? It looks like you might have used a power extension cord and a garden hose.

yep- garden hose and mower extension cord.
it took 2 clews, and each about 40 feet, I guess. I folded the cord in half.
Why are they called "clews" by the way?

Ok, photo batch is up! *phew*

video should be ready shortly.
Lots of footage, so I'm making 2 parts - the instructional portion and the game portion (about 20 mins total), plus a condensed version Smile
