[SPEC] What is Eli Hunt doing in South America?

Ariadne wrote:
By the way, in case you're wondering why I haven't blogged about dramatic confrontations with Mr. Hunt lately... he is officially M.I.A.

The secretary at the society told me he was officially "on leave" to pursue a research lead in South America. Apparently, this struck everyone at the society as quite odd, since there are no known ancient Olympic artifacts in South America. The secretary asked me if I knew what Eli was really up to.

What, exactly, has Mr. Hunt gone off to investigate? I wonder if Diego's friends, or Larissa's friends, have a better idea. For now, your guess is as good as mine...

I'm sure there's a few ideas being considered and thrown around already - I know aceituna has already suggested it's linked to the South America = Atlantis theory.

I thought it might be worth giving such speculation its own thread, however, to which we can add any further clues that may help us.

One thing I'll throw out for now is my discovery that the Incas had their very own "navel of the world" - namely Cuzco, Peru. By all accounts it's also one of the most important archaeological sites in Peru too...

Either that or he's gone to investigate something in the last place marked on the postcard from Jorge & friends...?

Any other ideas, or clues to provide some insight?

I kind of hope not. It would be awesome if Victor could pick it up.

Totally agree. But even if it's gone, I'm sure there'll be something in its place.

Maybe he came to S.A. to investigate about the seismic activity in Brasil, as Diego did some days ago.
