Contact Made

Subtle wasn't the way to go. Ya gotta speak the language.
Here's my email exchange (remember on an earlier post elsewhere I had called and left a phone message)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, this is Nicky again. Look, I left a voice mail the other day
about a loan and I ain't heard nothin yet. I ain't no Joe Palooza lookin
for a hand-out.

Maybe you want some background. Remember back in 86, that accident
with Frankie Salemme outside the pancake house in Saugus.
Well, who do you think botched that accident. You think I was going to hang around
with those crazy Russo brothers and Vinnie the Animal? After what they
did to Barboza in Frisco, there's no way I'm stickin around. If I had
the resources to pull a Whitey, I would have.

So I got my new identity and a new profession doing investigations and
providing "entertainment" machines for fine establishments. But I still
hear things. Fortunately the Gen family wasn't too impressed with
Junior running things up on the Hill back there so I still have a few
soldiers who look out for me around here. That's how I hear about you.
I also know about those Belarus boys from Brighton Beach. Think there
going to just go whereever they please, muscling in on LCN ground.

If it weren't for those damn number crunchers, I wouldn't be in this
mess. Just move the numbers around in different columns, the Fed's ain't
going to know he says. Sure it ain't his history on the line here. No
way I'm letting them catch up with me. After all Frankie's still there
and his boys are too. How long you think I'll last? I'm only looking
for 25 G's. What you say?

You scatch my back....

Nicky
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The reply that I got:

Yo Nicky!
Man, youse got some things to learn. Whats a matter with you that you'd
put stuff like that in an e-mail? You don't know whos reading these things.

Man, Frank'd have my 'nads if I did family business with someone like
you, I'm thinking. But you know what, I ain't against a little bling on the
side. Tell you what, give me a couple of days.
Things are busy round here right now, what with the new look of the place and all that.
Frank and the old man are keeping me and Marco hoppin'.
But lay low, no more emails to here bout that stuff cause Angie'll be back this weekend
and start answering these again so we need to keep it down.
I'll send you a message soon about how you can get a hold of me and we'll see what we can do.

And listen, Nicky, if youse yanking me here, you'll think the Russo
Brothers
are frigging saints by the time I'm done with you.

Sal

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My last followup:

Your a lifesaver Sal. Later you come over for a big pot of Sunday gravy, we're just over in Garfield.
Angelina (Angel) makes the best bracciole you ever tasted. You like pork or beef?

Nicky

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frankly, I'm not sure what will come of this. I'm assuming we tie them into the accident at some point.

Grumpyboy got email from ET

"grumpyboy" from CD wrote the following:

Subject: Contact: Emptythreats is not a bank

Quote:
I mentioned in chat a while ago that I emailed empty threats asking
about "alternative financing". Here is what I got back:

------------------------------------------------------
Hi, uh, Mr. Boy. Sorry no one has responded to you sooner, I just got
back from vacation. I think you may have sent this email to us in
error. This is a restaurant (bar & grill), not a bank. Maybe you can try
www.lendingtree.com or something. Good luck.

Angie
------------------------------------------------------

I was hoping the brothers would answer since Angie might not be in on
the "family business". Anyways I sent another message to sonsofdon.com,
this time sounding even more desperate (they've repossessed my car and
they're gonna take my house soon, etc.)

Will post again if I get a reply.

working phone number at empty threats

got this e-mail yesterday
Hi Ms Goretti. Sorry about the mess up with the phone. I just got back
from
vacation and it should be working now. Those boys are idiots and I
think they
pressed the wrong buttons, erasing the outgoing message (and probably
all our
messages, there weren't any when I last checked). I've already had a
few
customers show up for dinner thinking they had reservations, but I was
able to
squeeze them in. Please come on by next week. The polka guys are
friends of
the boys, so they play here often.

Angie

I had written a message asking not only about polka night, but about directions to the club for those of us who don't have cars. So after I got the message, I called the number, and it's now working. Someone (Angie) has recorded a voice mail telling us all about salsa night and St. Patrick's Day. I left a message asking for directions from the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, if that does go to Hackensack, with the name of alter ego #1, Angela Goretti. Wouldn't it be great if the PM did recreate an entire polka night, just for us? heeheehee....
