More Sequel News Quote from Cloverfield2spoilers.com
Hello all, cloverfield2spoilers.com coming at you with an exclusive first look at the sequel to the early-year blockbuster, Cloverfield. Rumor has it that Cloverfield 2 will feature two monsters. JJ Abrams has denied rumors that two separate monsters appeared in Cloverfield, however he did state that another monster, another original design, will appear in the sequel. Tentatively titled Cloverfields, the next film will completely drop the gimmick of the first, instead opting for a normal style of filming.
JJ Abrams stated, "The first film was a great gimmick, but for a movie involving two monsters battling, and yes they will be battling, we needed a more cinematic approach." He went on to talk about Neville Page's early designs for the newest creature, saying that they would be kept just as top secret as the original monster. "The only hint I will give you, is that she is Clover's polar opposite."
Matt Reeves has declined to state whether or not he will direct, but rumors have leaked that a much more well-known director is willing to take over this project should he be given the chance. Steven Spielberg declined to comment.
Drew Goddard will return to write the sequel, but the buzz around Tinseltown is that he is unhappy with the direction they have asked him to take the series. Drew on writing Cloverfields, "I wanted to continue to include the human element of the first, but so far they've restricted me to only one or two main characters and the rest of the human characters in the movie are quickly trampled by Clover and his adversary." Drew agreed to continue writing the sequel, despite these creative quibbles, due to a contractual obligation.
Rumored interested parties for playing the male and female lead are Jim Carrey and Claire Danes.
JJ Abrams, in this exclusive interview with cloverfield2spoilers.com, told us, in closing, some stats for the movie. Apparently he is going for a much longer movie to suit the cinematic nature of the sequel. The movie will run at least two and a half hours. Special effects will dominate this juggernaut of a movie, and apparently it will make last-year's blockbuster Transformers look like child's play. Those that were disappointed with the creature's short screen-time should be blown away by this stat - apparently the monster is on screen for at least an hour and forty-five minutes of the two and a half hour running time. Woah. This is gonna be big folks, stay tuned right here for more.
They also let us know that two new character MySpaces should go up in the near future, and the viral marketing will take place almost entirely through MySpace and Facebook profiles this time. Not sure why they didn't include that info in the article, but maybe they haven't confirmed it yet.
In communication with Interviewer Aaron Prilfuls, he let us in on a little sketch he did based on some off-the-record information. Don't hold us to this, but Clover's got some tough competition coming up if his drawing is accurate:

Oh geez! I should have known we weren't immune to April Fool's Day in here...
Now, if you would REALLY want to make it scary, instead of having Jim Carrey be the lead guy, how about him being the actual monster!

I was believing it right up until "two monsters". I doubt if JJ would opt for that, seeing as monster-on-monster action has gotten a big "Hell no!!" from us all.
Besides, we should be used to this. For Superfuzzzz, every day is April Fool's, is it not?

Ok, so you posted it not knowing it was an April Fool's thing?
Which reminds me...I've gotta think of something to do (sure, the day's almost gone, but there's nothing that says the theme can't carry over! Nothing!)
