Okay... looks like we may be waiting another day. He's been able to give me an updated code, but unfortunately it still doesn't work (for me at least).

NZer in Seoul wrote:
The code again:
Pruvo de Rehavigo: 83JC/HJP8/E6SK/5MAB/2LLZ (or
.../2llZ or whatever)

Its possible that the last sequence is 211Z as in two
hundred and eleven Z.

He said if it still doesn't work, he'll be able to upload photos, but not til tomorrow due to work stuff.

The only change here from the last code is the E6SK, which Johnny5 just ironically asked about... So - people can either try variations again, or we can all wait til he gets to an internet cafe tomorrow.

He apologized for the hickups, and I let him know we were glad to at least have it in hand (better than having Theo get to it first!).

Great Job!!!

EDIT: figures seem to be typed lower than alphabets in Pruvo de Rehavigo ....

it's the result of the shift key on the manual typewriter they would have used causing the keys to strike the paper higher when the shift key is pressed. The paper roller must turn slightly when that shift key is depressed. The numbers are on the lower case end of the keys so they stay in line with the lower case letters. I feel pretty old even talking about a manual typewriter.

And thank you NZer!

Again, the illustration on this one make me suspicious of Eli because it looks like what we saw in his podcast.

I see. Thank you very much, I didn't know that at all. So we can discriminate between figures and capitals, can't we?

And here's the translation:

Chapter 9

From Stone to Human

This much we know.

In 480 BC, an alliance of Ancient Greek city-states forbade the Labyrinth as a sport. A decree announced:

The power of these blindfolded athletes is too great.
The Labyrinth permits mere mortals to see that which we are not entitled to see.
We offended the Gods.
We plead for their absolution of us.
The Labyrinth sport no longer exists.

Almost every single stone labyrinth was "dismunita" (taken down). Only labyrinths made for worship of the gods remained unspoiled, and they were carefully guarded in order to forbid the athletes from daydreaming (fantasizing?).

Training diaries, plaques of champions, statues of heroes – all indications of the Labyrinth athletes were destroyed.

The post of the Olympic agonothetai, the official organizers and judges of the Labyrinth, was abolished forever.

Most importantly, organizing a Labyrinth event was declared a crime against the gods – punishable with lifelong exile.

This had to be the end of the Labyrinth. But it was not.

A secret society of former agonothetai refused to abandon the sport. They wrote a pact:

The most important game should not be forgotten. The ring must not be broken. In order to retain the worlds within, we will continue the playing.

They thus decided to continue both the training and competition of Labyrinth runners. No longer heroes of the Ancient Olympiad, the runners would be secret keepers of the great tradition.

But in order to avoid being found and removed, the agonothetai needed a way to build labyrinths which could be born out of nothing and would leave no sign behind.

Since that moment, the sport changed forever. Instead of stone walls, the Labyrinth should be alive.

Thanks once again, Chid! Interesting! So do we now know what they mean by the Lost Ring?

Has the photos of Seoul pickup been uploaded somewhere? I want to know the title of the book in order to see if it might be a secondary clue.

Last I heard from him he was going to try and get to an internet cafe this weekend to upload pics, etc - looks like that hasn't happened, but I've sent him another message to encourage him to do so as soon as he can. Smile

It says on the Wiki that the book is Corneilles 'Polyeucte' by Alcee Fortier from 1891...although i can't seem to find a reference to this either on here or the official forums.
Does anyone know if there is a link to the photos from the pickup (should there actually be any?) or even just know where this information came from.

At my request, mrjudkins asked his friend in Seoul specifically about the English-language book (I'm working on a 'second story' theory) and passed along that information to me in chat. So I decided to update the wiki with all the book information from the artifact locations.

Sorry if it seemed mysterious Smile

Yes...very mysterious Dante...are you Theo Wink
On a more serious note, I dont suppose you know whether there were any photos taken from this pickup or did we just get the artifact?
