[Rampant SPEC] Melissa = Miranda?

There's a semi interesting line in one of the earlier Halo 2 videos. In the transcript I found, for those who ain't seen it, where a designer talks about Miranda (?) strapped a bomb to Master Chief's back and shoved him down a hole. And it was this horrible scene of betrayal.

This got me thinking. Since we always know that Bungie ARGs like this inevitably don't fit with with the story in the games (like the Cortana letters), could Melissa be a new/old name for this Miranada character?

There's a lot of debate going down about who Miranda is, but let's picture this, supposing a few ideas that H2 might have -

Miranda is Melissa. We're not learning about an ONI ship, we're learning about a barely mentioned possibility in the novels that may have, actually, come to fruition:

Ackerton's super soldiers. (Not sure if I'm spelling his name right, sorry)

In the novels, its explained that Ackerton tried to make his own form of Spartans, but couldn't get funding after the success of the Spartans. After some minor parts of Cortana shutting it down, we don't mention them ever again.

Now, let's extrapolate from this. Let's guess, for pure spec, that Bungie wanted a way to announce that Halo 2 will not only the Covenant, the Flood, but also fellow Humans? Evil Spartans, as it were?

Create an ARG that follows the aftermath of an Evil Spartan experiment gone wrong.

Unwilling to just cancel his project, Ackerton has to go covert to deal with his project. He asks for an AI, and a ship. Goes off into unknown space to deal with his experiments in private.

The ship suffers an accident, crashes in our time. the AI is barely alive, and can barely remember anything.

Inside The Casket? The only surviving Ackerton Evil Spartan.

Enter Halo 2, with Evil Spartan and Miranda/Melissa, who by the end of the ARG has become most Normal, and flees back to the Halo 2 Universe.

I know, quite a bit of a stretch, but I'm bored.
