Wondering if we can't figure out a way to get the best of both worlds. That is to say, a concise movement of the walls (along their own 'team' wall) without crossover, while still starting at the center.. I'll play around with it some more...

My diagram does have them starting from the center. I've just dl'd a flash tutorial so I'm going to see what I can put out.
But first, must go file taxes and return library books. Meatlife intervenes. Again! drat

Maybe we're arguing semantics of the word center. Your diagram has a purple line saying runner start. That isn't the center of the labyrinth. The center is the round portion (3/4 round close to where your orange lines all cross each other).
It's 2 x 2 (since it gets 2' from each direction., not the 2' passage.)
In a traditional labyrinth, where you are walking towards the center, this would be the goal location.

Yeah I see your point. It needs more tweaking. I was thinking that the runner could be anywhere within the inner circle. But it'd be more exact to start from the very center. And determining the true center of the laby is a whole other kettle of fish as Mr. Judkins I think can attest.

Also, when I said center, i meant that as in opposition to the mouth of the laby as they showed in the codex illustration.

FWIW here is another very good labyrinth resource that I've been using
Mid-Atlantic Geomancy that gives you the seed patterns for various sizes as well as some other terms
Using the 7 Circuit Labyrinth . There is alot of spirituality and geomancy stuff there which may or may not be of interest to you.

I think the way the walls move is not really that important, compared to the runner, err... running the labyrinth. I mean, it's the runner act of running the labyrinth what sends the synchro-waves across the multiverse, not the whole runner + walls + everything, so the way the walls move doesn't really matter. Of course, walls need training too, but it's just so they help the runner do the run.
About the flash, weezel, it's quite good. And I think the humming corresponds more or less with when the walls have their arms up (those green flags): the walls hum until the runner has gone past them. Of course, when a wall turns around (when doing the turns), I think he should stay at the end of the wall (posing as the final point), and always facing the runner and humming, turning with him, so the runner knows he is turning well.

To me, the first paragraph of Chapter 17 of the Codex implies that the walls do have some effect on synchronization because it says that unless you used the exact same corresponding rocks in two different worlds, building astronomically precise pyramids or stone columns wouldn't be very helpful and thus human bodies are better for a self-regulating homeostatic system.
Am I reading it wrong?

Yeah, Hikaro, that makes a lot of sense. But I hope that doesn't mean we need to choreograph wall movements for all possible numbers of wall-members! Especially since in some cases, we may not know exactly how many players are going to show up at a certain event.
Would this also mean the same number of players would have to show up in all other worlds? (Maybe the players can meditate while they're sitting at their breakfast table or sitting up in bed in the morning, and communicate with their alternate selves to tell them to show up.)

There are at least some figures regarding the numbers of wall athletes in Chapter 6 of the codex:
A 3-circuit training labyrinth needs at least 10 athletes, plus the runner.
A 5-circuit training labyrinth needs at least 12 athletes, plus the runner.
A 7-circuit official Olympic labyrinth needs at least 15 athletes, plus the runner.
So perhaps the "at least" means that these numbers are the actual perfomers having some "back-ups" possible. Like saying: "For soccer you need at least 11 players"
(Sorry for people in the US, but I do not know the typical team size of football, basket-ball or icehockey )

OK, so like I said I don't know how useful this is... except that it's also quite interesting the the Earth "hums" in the pattern of rings!!
Please let me know what you think... I'm not exactly on this strength mission, but I love reading news articles...
