by saying jj wont allow it is kinda not wrong but not right he is not the only one and yes he is working on star trek so maybe damon and others will have more rights to do with what they want and or had it all planned to begin with
that all aside until someone can tell me why there is a dharma logo in cloverfield other than "its just an easter egg" the debate will continue

The series is over in about a year, about 13 months. That is 12 months to create a movie tying lost and cloverfield all together.
What are you talking about? LOST is scheduled to go on for another 2 seasons after this... Leaving Season 5 right smack in the middle of when "Cloverfield" would have taken place (In our timeline).

Nah no biggie... I'm sorry, you can't really show your 'expressions' over the net. I wasn't saying it in a 'rude tone' or anything.
I was asking what you were referring to in that comment because there's still 2 seasons after #4 has finished.
It just kind of shows concrete proof [somewhat] in the sense that, actually now I think about it, being as Jack's gone haywire in "2007" - Season 6 of LOST would kind of finish around "2009" in the Lost-Verse; so...
A sequel to C.F once LOST Finishes making it the tie in?

Hey pegasissy, long time no see! I haven't posted in ages, but I've been here since november 07. The only thing that could arouse me from my posting slumber is a thread incorporating my two fav things; cloverfield and LOST.
So; my opinion;
This is hard one, but I dont think there will be an in-depth tie in. Don't get me wrong, if these two were connected I'd pull a Marlena and explode with joy, but I think I'm safe for now. I just dont think a connection would be, uh, whats the word.. "suitable"?!
Remember when MI3 (by JJ) was promoted as having a 'secret LOST clue in it'? And we all turned up to see it expecting a LOST tie in, a shared universe or alike; and then all we got were a few breif references and a stupid little reference tot he Hanso foundation in the credits? I think, like MI3, Cloverfield just references LOST in the same superficial way. JJ has gone: "I'll just throw in a few Dharma logos here and there and it'll get cloverfield fans to watch LOST, and LOST fans to watch cloverfield". I think this is the extent of the crossover; just a promotional tool, nothing more.
HOWEVER; I love to dream, as you will soon find out in a thread I'm about to start in a few days; so in imagining that there is a cross-over, a tie-in, a shared universe, I am of course going to speculate on how it's going to happen. So here's a few wild educated guesses I think would be if they could be:
a) They are simply in the same universe; nothing more, nothing less. Same characters are real in LOST as in Cloverfield, and visa versa. Maybe a DVD special feature references the Oceanic 6, Michael is in a cut scene or Cloverfield 2, etc etc etc.
b) The Hanso foundation has a link to Tagruato. Or maybe Widmore or Paik contributes to Yoshida's motives.
c) MGP originates from the Island. This one is VERY unlikely, but would be sorta cool I guess. Maybe the Island's warped perception of time has allowed this creature to last through the ages or something.
d) The characters from LOST mess up the order of the universe (relating to a theory I have about LOST) and the space-time continuum. This somehow allows unbelievable, catastrophic events to occur in the real world (for example, say, a giant monster attack on New York) as the universe tries to readjust.
e) The monster is linked to the Velenzetti equation. He may be the bringer of destruction; he may may be the indestructible monster that will lead to the extinction of mankind, and his waking up has occurred as a result of manipulation of the core numerical values.
f) The monster is actually John Locke (they do look alike) after taking steroids and being angry from Ben being a total douche and not giving him (and the viewers) any STRAIGHT GODDAMMED ANSWERS TO WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS GOING ON ON THE ISLAND!
*regains composure*
ahem..
The last one; maybe not as likely. Anyway, thats what i think.

I've said this a thousand times...i think the only reason that goddard mentioned a "maybe" for this is to get more people hooked. I mean, honestly, how many people have come to this forum that have started watching lost because of cloverfield? Numerous! You said it himself, he is a frequent member of the lost crew...i'm guessing he said this to further fame for the show.
I also think if they were going to throw in something for lost, they'd DEFINITELY make it obvious. They would have increased their profit majorly had they done this.

I haven't checked this whole thread, but do remember Beth's last name, McIntyre, was the last name of a character from TLE and the Hanso Foundation.

I'm not dissig him, he's one of my favorite characters even if he pisses me off once in a while. Loved him since "Walkabout".
