You made the right decision, don't worry.

I did a little research
and now I feel like throwing up

All right. For some bizarre reason, I could not find a list of ingredients on line for HoHos *cough*CONSPIRACY*cough*, but the ingredients of Twinkies are:

Quote:
Polysorbate 60, wheat flour, bleach, enrichment blend (ferrous sulfate and B vitamins – niacin, thiamine mononitrate, (B1) riboflaven (B2), folic acid), sugar, corn sweeteners, corn syrup (dextrose, glucose, high-fructose corn syrup), corn thickeners (cornstarch, modified cornstarch, corn dextrins, corn flour), water, soy (partially hydrogenated vegetable and/or animal shortening, soy lecithin, and soy protein isolate), eggs, cellulose gum, whey, leavenings, baking soda, phosphates (sodium acid pyrophosphate and monocalcium phosphate), salt, mono and diglycerides, natural and artificial flavours, sodium stearoyl lactylate, sodium and calcium caseinate, calcium sulfate, sorbic acid, and last but not least, FD&C yellow no. 5 and red no. 40.

The cream is made from vegetable and/or animal shortening (in other words, pure fat). The lightness of the dough itself comes from limestone (the sodium bicarbonate).
B1= derived from coal tar
B3/niacin= water, air, and petroleum
sorbic acid= natural gas
Ferrous sulphate= made from steel run through a 'bath of sulfuric acid'
Yellow no. 5/red no. 40= derived from petroleum and made in China
polysorbate 60= derivant of ethylene oxide (explosive)

In fact, most of the vitamins, minerals and colors of Twinkies are derived from petroleum. Lovely, no?

A really cool book about what exactly goes into Twinkies is "Deconstructing the Twinkie", by Steve Ettlinger. I haven't read it but from the reviews,it sounds very good.

/rant over
And now let's return to our previously scheduled ARG...already in progress...

Current balance of power:

Beacon of Light: ~ 12
Shadow in Darkness: ~12

Count based on those that have stated their chosen side. Seven or so have kept their affiliation a secret. Perhaps a wise move...

The big question is, which side will Michael Jackson join?

Thanks Arcas, I'll try. I'll probably be the last one to know anything, but I'll still try. I just hope that it doesn't turn into the battle of the pastries

Welcome aboard Gem-Chan. I like your "Dexter" Quote.

Thanks for the welcome and recognition, J-Fish. Deep appreciations. You can just call me Gem, btw.

This popped up from a site posted in another thread and I had to grab it to promote the dark side. Now who has the best T-shirts? Twisted Evil

http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts/popculture/939f/

It's a sign that the Dark side is better :p
