I said in the flesh, not in the titanium alloy and molded plastic!

Alright, here we go.

Can't really add more to what hmrpita said, except we were all real nervous. Holy crap we were going to meet an in game character in real life! This was a first for all of us and it ended up being amazing. I will have to remember to email and thank her.

Got the pictures I took, along with the scanned postcard on my flickr. The postcard in question is below. Noriko did her best trying to translate this, but had some trouble because she is not a fluent english speaker. I scanned it to 300 dpi, so hit the all sizes button on flickr to see the huge version there.

I have a video also, will upload it later tonight. *runs off to catch the train home*

Awesome..

The postcard reminds me of pictures of the Tunguska event..

Did any of you get a chance to read or photograph the writing on the goggles?

What's with Theo's new funky cuneiform handwriting style?

Argh, so many questions..

First, I would like to thank SF people. I'd like to make replies to pita's report later.
Japenese in the postcard seems to be written by Akira. I think Rivanor or other native English speakers would translate it better than I, but if they aren't available now, I'll do it.

EDIT: I made a rough translation below, but please feel free to replace or correct it.

Ranger D took pics that he will upload tonight, but I can tell you what the scratched in writing says.

The right eye of the goggles says "Stay Blind" and "Neopangea is near" is on the left eye.

This is a rough translation of the post card.

What we had feard the most was confirmed. Intercalated Games were too late. California started a landslide in the direction of north Neopangaea. We have travelled up to here in order to perform trainings intensively where big earthquakes happen. We have to stop the world going to collapse. Otherwise we can't go home.

EDIT: I made several minor/grammatical corrections.

The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake??

You are supposed to train where earthquakes happen?? Why "North" Neopangea?? Wacky.

Cool--thank you! The words I remember Noriko saying were California, landslide, earthquake area (or something like that), as well as something about the world collapsing. She asked us if we thought California might slide.

[SPEC]So, I guess it's important to train near faults? Running blindfolded through a human labyrinth seems as good a way as any to keep those pesky plate tectonics under control. Wink

Jeez... good thing we're training in Wellington then.

Most of the Central Business District is reclaimed land which rose up in a major earthquake, as well as the airport land.

Japanese has no singular/plural or "the/a" discrimination. So I can't tell whether this describes a certain earthquake or the frequency.

I can't tell why "North" Neopangaea either.
