I'd love it is you all get a chance to go through what I'm putting on the wiki, which is summaries of the story and what we here are doing to work them out (I think I'm on page 10 of the thread so far!)

I've tried to put all the main points in that are relevant - but please add what I have missed; also reasons why we did something here.

The end result of this should be a case study so that people can easily understand what happened if they are new to the genre of args.

Hi All,

Been lurking for a while, enjoying the stories & game very much - and I wanted to contribute with something I spotted about Alice. Not much more than trivia, but still:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Alice Klein = 'Klein' in German means small, or Little. Alice in Wonderland was reputedly based on Alice Liddell.

And a couple of quotes from Alice in Wonderland. From the 'Queen Alice' poem in Chapter 9 [from the second book, Through the Looking Glass]:

Quote:
'Then fill up the glasses with treacle and ink,
Or anything else that is pleasant to drink:
Mix sand with the cider, and wool with the wine --
And welcome Queen Alice with ninety-times-nine!'

And I also quite like this from the Tea Party scene

Quote:
Alice sighed wearily. 'I think you might do something better with the time,' she said, 'than waste it in asking riddles that have no answers.'

Cheers!

21 Steps
One Pill Makes You Smaller

Back in The 21 Steps our protagonist Rick has to carry an unknown liquid on the plane.

Did the label read 'DRINK ME' do you think...

I don't think this was covered in this forum but Cabbage was onto this in the WLP forum when we first got Alice's blog Smile

There are a couple of threads over at WLP which seem to have migrated over here now but you might want to read too Smile

In chat names
Odd names I thought i would look at

Well, I noticed a couple of "odd" nicknames in chat yesterday, so thought I would do a bit of digging. Here is one of the things I found when looking at "A book is a mirror."

http://www.vam.ac.uk/vastatic/wid/exhibits/artofthebook/mirror.html

And this:

A book is a mirror; if an ass peers into it, you can not expect an apostle to peer out.
Georg Christoph Lichtenberg

And lyrics from the song "Spy in the house of love" by steve Winwood

Quote:
Out on the street, you were the queen
Playing games with jokers and fools
Then out of the night there comes the king
Now he's changing the rules

Those lyrics...

sound a bit like like slice...

queen, quite cool, then Jacomo comes from the wall, and everything changes.

missing comment on slice blog

hey... give a look at the last post on slice' blog.... there were 22 comments, now they are 21. The one who answered Jez and reported what the missing new post said has been removed!
uhmm.... don't know what to think... is this in game or just some administration, maybe unwanted?

So it is! I have EG as a mutual friend over on LJ, I have sent her a message asking if she removed it. Just waiting for a reply.

An intermittent player, but as I live in Camden, I hope I can help with the week 4 background image. It looks to be roughly where the Pirate Castle is on Gilbey's Wharf.

The angel statue on slices blog is actually a statue in Highgate Cemetery. I have been researching the cemetery, but can't find anything significant. I wish I could see the headstones on ray & lynns blog better!

Does anyone have, or has anyone read, any of the "classics" that these stories are based on?

I'm wondering if any clues are being drawn from them?

I'm so tempted to hunt down copies...

I got pretty paper with flowers in it to print out veebee's poetry on, I got a muffin tray so I can actually make muffins tonight and a pretty box to put them in with pretty hearts paper to go round them

Now I need to bake the muffins!!!

EDIT: I also bought that ring from Argos, the one from Mary-Jane's diary hehehe I couldn't resist!
